Not sure how "retro" this is but you guys might know something about this. I spotted a car in town a while ago I couldn't work out what it was, so I've made it my mission to hunt it down and find out what it is. Well its a 1992 Nissan Presia Twin Cam. WFT? Google doesn't turn much up in engilsh but what I can see suggests it was a Thailand only model. Weird. Anyone know anything at all about this car.  |

Not sure really. It all started off with seeing the thing in town and not knowing what the heck it was. It took about 3 weeks to find it stopped somewhere where I could read the make and model off it. Then I looked it up on google but spelt it wrong so I was really confused as a small number of Thai sites came up.
They any good/cheap/expensive - just curious really. I thought it looked quite neat with no grill and all that.

They have concave headlamp glass.. always found that odd. They're a bit of a nothing car really, small enough to be pretty economical and not fast enough to be considered for anything else. At least not over here where there's such easy access to other Japanese cars.

Think they sit somewhere in small gap between Sunny and Bluebird/Primera. IIRC most have 1.5 or 1.8 engines, got some brochures on them at home. Styling a bit Infiniti Q45-lite.

 Model code is R10. Looks like they fitted them with SR20DE (145ps), SR18DE (125ps) and GA15DS (94ps) engines. Frameless door glass, but it's not a true hardtop as there's still a central pillar. Back end looks quite odd, and Kyteler I'd never noticed the concave headlights before - very odd. FWD, no 4wd option unusually. Could be interesting if cheap, as very rare here. Brochure shots make it look very sensitive to colour and wheel choice, and all appear to have a bit too much air below the arches. Think there was a replacement R11 model, but not sure if they still do it nowadays. |
