Model: Rover SD1 2600 VDP manual Year: 1987 Mileage: 134000 Tax: NO MOT: NO Location: Southampton Price: £350 no offers Moonraker blue. 5 speed manual 2.6 straight six engine grey velour interior 4x electric windows, power steering, central locking (on most doors) No MOT I have decided to sell my rather long term project now. It has been in storage for a while and the fuel pump has now stopped working - power to the terminal above the fuel tank but nothing from the intank pump? the above is kind of the last straw really. I don't have any time to finish her off, so selling at a MASSIVE loss. she has had a load of welding done - a little needed on the front of one sill and a tiny bit at the back off the same one. windscreen has a crack in the corner about 5 inches long - MOT failure? vitesse alloys, rear spoiler. the last time I was working on her I needed to sort out an electrical gremlin on the rear lights - this was the only thing stopping me from taking her to the MOT man. I could break her for much more than this but I don't want to and time is an issue these days. mechanically good (apart from dodgy fuel pump) a bit of rust in the door bottoms, I started them but a couple still need doing, paint finsh is not brilliant, not much expensive stuff to do - I have done that. I may swap for a small fun car - or even a fishing g boat and trailer. I can deliver it for diesel money plus £47 trailer hire within a reasonable distance (up to about 80 miles) some pictures before she was put away.

This really needs saving. The 2600 has been seriously overshadowed by the V8, yet the straight 6 is a good strong and quite powerful lump, some have argued that it makes the SD1 a smoother drive than the V8. Granted, the 6 is renowned for head issues but, surely, thats all been sorted out now in the same way that the Stag engines overheating issues were dealt with? Always fancied one of these, if i didnt have a scimitar that is driving me up the wall id be seriously interested. Hope you get the sale fella.

Car now likely to be broken for spares due to impending loss of space. - be quick before I end up having to get the spanners on it.

Too far from me with it having no MOT, like the Maestro in Dorset. I'd hate to see either broken for parts, but I don't have a trailer to save it/them.

pre week end bump.
priced to sell - I cant do it any cheaper than this.
I have a box of parts new from rimmer bros to help all the little issues.
Its worth a load more in pieces too but I really don't want to see it go that way - thats why i priced it at £350

looks like it will end up on the bay - dreading it to be honest. I only ever get weirdos and people who think they can drive away a car that was described as 'potential death trap that is barely in one piece and definately not road worthy' - not a description of the rover by the way but an old doner vehicle I had no use for. will give it to next week then I will either break it or stick it on ebay. cheers dave

right....
a few things have happened in my life this week, as a result this car HAS to go - no swaps just cash.
I will be ebaying it when I get back off holiday in a few weeks, if it doesnt sell its getting weighed in along with a load of other stuff.

the fate of this car hangs in the balance I am now off on my holidays with no internet, on my return I will be offering it on here for one more week then its ebay, then its breaking for spares and getting cubed -
this pains me and its a real ball ache as I spent out £25 for the log book!! £300 on new brake system, 50 hours on the welder, £400 in storage, £30 in petrol just driving it round the farm, all plus the original cost of the car and transport.
£350 is really cheap for one of these surely?
still I cant afford to be sentimental the barn its stored in is going end of June.
regards a VERY sad Dave

yep it is very cheap, i'd have had it like a shot if I didn't already have far to many cars and projects!
You should have gone for the swap i offered when i offered you my scorpio that made £850 on ebay...

if you do get stuck, you can store it here rather than weighing it in.

if you do get stuck, you can store it here rather than weighing it in. Thanks for the offer, I fear that I will have to strip it down and weigh it in now as no one is able to take her off my hands in one piece and time is drawing nearer, I need to clear the space and release some funds for other non car related things now. thread soon to be closed and a new one in parts section.
