Right when I brought the Sierra it misfired at anything over half throttle, the guy I got it off said he ran it out of petrol and ever since that it developed this problem. I changed the fuel filter which for one whole day seemed to cure the problem (the old filter was full of grey jelly!)........
The next day the car has the same problem so I took off the new filter assuming it was dirty again, but it looks all clean. I blew it out with an air line just to make sure. Put it back on and still it had the same problem.
I gave the car a good service (plugs, oil, filters, dizzy cap, leads ect) which seemed to make it a tiny bit better, but it still does it. Any ideas? Low pump pressure? blocked fuel lines? knackered metering head? could the fuel accumulator cause this?
The fuel pump is very noisy, got a new one in the post and the fuel tank has (what looks like) a chemical repair, so I've got a new one of those too. Both of these I'm fitting at the weekend.
Thanks in advance Robin
