I got this from a mate as part of a deal, and I've been running it as my daily for the last few weeks. I've bought something else now though, so the 'Rocco needs to go.
It's a Scala, with a 1.8-litre carb'd engine and a 3-speed auto 'box. I had a Mk1 Passat estate a few years back with this combo and was surprised at the time at how well it went, and the Scirocco has less weight to lug around so it's pretty nippy for an auto, and it's not too low-geared on a run either (60 is about 2,900rpm). It starts first time and mechanically it seems to be in good order.
It's a very solid car indeed and overall is in pretty good nick for its age. There are one or two blemishes though - there's a patch on the OSF wing which needs touching up, and a slight ding in the nearside front, both of which are shown in the pictures. There are a couple of other cosmetic blemishes, but nothing serious. It had a towbar which was fitted by the last-but-one owner (who I also know), but I don't think it's ever been used in anger as the chap then went out and bought a van.
The interior is in fairly good nick, but there's a small hole in the driver's front seat bolster in the usual place - the car's currently fitted with seat covers in the front. All the electrics seem to work as they should.
Here's some pics:
Looking for £400. PM me or ask a question on here if you would like any more info.
