As I said before, it aint my welding and its been holding his 265 BHP Nova together fine, for now lol

Small update, got a bit more welding done and discovered some more rot didn't do much more as Gareth had a night out planned and I'm suffering badly from lack of sleep, Welding Bit smoky in 'ere innit mate? What looked like a perfectly clean battery tray had a surprise for me Another problem area although this isn't too bad, rear panel under the boot rubber Fitted the rear seats, just need a clean up, curse word pic isn't enough room to stand back and take a pic and the sun was shining/reflecting off everything

Small update today, this took about two hours and Gareth whinged every minute of it we also picked up Danny SP (who managed to get dog turd EVERYWHERE after stepping in a tiny bit ) Gareth finished around the steering rack mount Then him and Danny made a plate up for the battery tray while I sanded down the hole where the loom comes through, which was then blanked off, plate Fitted and ran out of welding wire

Copied from PNG
Update without pics though as I forgot the camera again. Me and Gareth picked Danny SP up at about midday and went to get some welding wire and proper welding gloves, sandpaper smooth and rough, body filler, and three tins of primer (2 hi build and 1 red oxide)
Gareth finished welding the plate in the battery tray which I then filed down with the power file top and bottom (on hi power it just put holes in the car and on low power looked like pigeon poo and left snots on the underside under the dash bit, but its done)
Then some body filler was applied around the pass side strut top to hide the welding and make things look a bit smoother, it needs more on it but I can see the big difference already, also going to apply it down the welds along the chassis legs.
And between that and Gareth and Danny putting Gareth's engine back together, taking a break and dropping Danny back home it took up most of the day, although getting around Middlesbrough was fun as there was some street parade going on.
Although I'm sure I've missed something.

A few pics of how its looking at the minute. More filling sanding/wet & dry done masked up the holes, used a tack rag on the bay but will do it again before its primed up, swept some P800 round the bay to key it up and left it in red oxide til tomorrow, pics. Removed the insides (some fire damage visible after the accident with welding sparks and sound deadening) Bay pics More random pics in no order as I forgot to copy and paste the last update to here Seam sealer splashed here there and everywhere Tidying up the body filler i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/lostboy_014/SDC10522.jpgMe hard at work

Little update, engine bay has been sanded down again as there was a few runs in the paint and primer and the front panel has been tacked on for now just to see how it fits as it was bent to f**k in transit while on its way to a local paint shop Is it just me or does it look like its wearing large reading glasses here I've got suspension sorted, nothing fancy just some TA-Technix coil over front shocks and springs rear I think just to get me going for now, getting them off a mate on friday, I also have an engine sorted I think, all depends if I can get down to it and bring it back up but its just a standard 1.6 16v (another XEL) not bad for £125 including all the running gear not that I need it

Small update time, me and Gareth made some plates up for the inner wings and Gareth welded them on then fitted the front panel for me he does a good job that lad considering the front panel was bent to hell in transit I didn't really get much time for pictures as Gareth needed a hand with his now and then and I was attempting some sanding again which I'll be honest, I didn't do a good job today. Anyway I've got some suspension, unfortunately nothing spectacular just tome TA Technix, I've also been and bought new bottom ball joints, track rod ends and one wheel bearing as they only had one in, will get the other soon hopefully then get them pressed into the hubs. Couple of pictures for now of how its sitting and the suspension kit I got

The red one leaked all its brake fluid (I've not took the drums off to look but I'd guess the slave cylinder popped) and that has left me in a predicament as its tax and mot is up next month and its not worth me spending money on it, but I need a car.
I don't want to sell this and I'm in no rush to, but I need a car asap.
£1300 takes it away with everything I was going to use on it I.E
Pistons & rods The engine I was going to use with above mods Interior Suspension New bottom ball joints track rod ends and wheel bearings Wheels etc etc etc
Well you get what I mean, not a bad deal considering there is ni-on £2000 worth of kit.

Done some work today, forgot camera again Danny took me to get the front bearings pressed in, the guy was busy so gonna pick them up tomorrow which I cant complain about as he's doing it free , me and Gareth got the front coil overs fitted and I did a few bits of trim on the inside, I also accidentally fitted one of the tie bar brackets the wrong way round which Gareth found hilarious and took a pic. Well we all gotta start somewhere and I've never played with Nova's to this extent Just ordered a new steering rack too

So, this morning Gareth took me to get an engine, (x16xe) not bad for £100 22 spline shafts (for sale) Pointless pic Got some bottom arm plates (TCA plates) off Mr Dave Dixon Cleaned the bottom arms up, fitted the plates and painted them I even managed to do a bit of welding which wasn't too bad although I got Gareth to do most of the welding as he is better. Thanks to Gareth for taking me for this engine + Dave and Col for helping out
