Gathering interest in my mk2, been busy removing all rust and replacing parts, just one more bit of rust to attend to, then its ready to go (unless anyone wants it as it is)
Anyways here's the info...
1984 A reg 1.3 cl 4 speed with manual choke
weber carb conversion
202k (although you would never know it)
6 months TnT
Uber retro brown/beige interior
GL rev counter clocks (have the originals, and a note of mileage so I know the true mileage)
Lowered 60mm on newish Apex springs, bilstein front shocks and koni rears
Mk3 GL steel wheels with centre and outer trim (gives the illusion of some dish :-D )
Recently serviced, also in the last year its had;
cambelt, camshaft seal, crankshaft seal, water pump, fuel pump, dizzy, leads, clutch (1k ago)
Just fitted a pair of brand new front wings to replace the old rotten ones, smoothed off wing mounted aerial
16v splitter with a rat
I have spent the past few months transforming the car from a rat covered in rust to a rust free fun machine, spent hours and hours on the bodywork, my plan was to have a full spray in alpine white, but time and money have failed me, so I opted for the matt black chalkboard paint, just for sh!ts and giggles. I've got a whole load of pics from the project to prove whats gone on.
The only bad points about this car are that it burns a bit of oil due to the mileage, and the rear window heater isn't brilliant, only about 5 of the lines actually work. It needs a rocker cover gasket too, but these are just picky things. For the mileage its an excellent example of an early mk2, interior is rare and in good condition, underneath is in very good condition, and apart from one hole in the sill I need to sort, theres no other rot anywhere!
I'm after £500 for it when the last rust hole is sorted, or make me an offer as it is. Also got plenty of that paint left for the new owner to do the roof if they want. Open to swap/px what you got?
This is how it was when I got it, so you can see the work thats gone into it
