Becky has owned this car since January this year and it has been awesome fun, but the time has come to sell because it nolonger fits her needs. It's too loud, and too low geared to deal with motorway miles, and Becky isn't mechanically minded enough to take over the servicing and maintenance from me so would prefer a 'jump in and drive' car (and she has a penchant for watercooled Volkswagens)
I'll attempt to break down everything in an attempt to remember it all.
Standard 1100cc engine. Runs well, uses very little oil. Feels like a nice strong engine (though obviously a 1.1 fiesta is never going to set the world alight with its power...). Has a standard, modified downpipe to accept the the Ashley exhaust system. It sounds awesome.
Standard 4 speed gearbox. It's a gearbox in an old ford, so it's a bit sloppy and a bit tight getting into 2nd, but it selects all gears fine and works as it should.
Largely very solid, though stonechips and minor bubbling have started to make themselves known around the front panel/bonnet and lower windscreen.
I did find a grot in the rear of the nearside sill, which I duly repaired the correct way (one layer at a time). I'm happy that its solid but am not happy with the outer skin as I didn't manage to weld it perfectly flush. It would be an easy fix to redo the outer skin, or skim with filler and paint if you wanted.
It's still in primer on the lower OS rear valance, where it had had a small knock and the panelwork was knocked out brilliantly by Grunty.
It obviously has SuperSport decals and a supersport (or XR2?) bodykit, which gives it an awesome 80s-tastic look that is complemented by the pepperpots (which all have good tyres)
Brakes are XR2 for added stopping ability, and it's on lowering springs and uprated shocks for better handling. It's good fun to throw about ;D
Interior is a combination of standard Fiesta stuff and is in reasonable condition. Additions include a push button start, the wiring for a CD player (I imagine becky will want to keep her one) and a pool ball gear knob.
Overall, a good, solid base to do whatever you want to, with some good mods to give you a head start. It's not the tidiest Fiesta in the world, but we bought it knowing that it was very cool, very solid and cheap to run. Obviously perfect first car, little runaround, play thing.. whatever you want it to be
I've just run out of lunch break, so I'll dig out photos ASAP, and the link to Becky's (becky91) readers rides thread.
Cheers
