to black or not to black that's the question

I got this little beast for the wife to run around in for £520 bargain. She said that despite being bright yellow it didn't stand out enough. So I put the chequers on the roof and the stripes on the sides, but my question is should I spray the wheels gloss black and put a set of red abarth caps in the centers.

Go black, but leave the edge lips in silver...it'll look better and won't look as bad if the happen to meet a kerb.

Yes, black would tie the wheels in nicely.

Nice little Cinq, I reckon these will start fetching strong money some years down the line, when they start disappearing from daily traffic and more people start to realise that they were a "proper" small car (i.e.: actually small!) and massive fun to drive.

Cheers for the comment's boys, one of the reasons for wanting to paint them black (apart from making it look better) is that they already have been kerbed.I would love to put some old style wheels on it like the ones on the fiat 127 at the retro show at santa pod.

to be honest i think they already are, tidy sportings are worth a lot more than the larger puntos or even my personal favorite unos. mainly just the awesome reliability of the 1.1
the older 899 engine ones remain cheap.

that and any for a couple of hundred are getting snapped up by grass track and 750club people.

love the car, but i must admit i'm not a fan of little black wheels. maybe an anthracite might suit it better, or some alfa zenders in 14" flavour. was a cheap set in rotherham on the bay last night

personally i'm don't think it looks right. but maybe with a bit of stick smacking it could look ok.

Thanks for the photoshop Novocaine, I have only just got the hang of putting photos on here so photoshopping will be my next challenge.

how about a vinyal wrap (or pain staking masking task ) of this in yellow and black.

love the fiat branded ford esque strip down the side always loved these cars proper go karts

Glad you like the side strips Alex77, they where easy to put on but the checkers on the roof where a right pain in the . It took me about four hours to get them on looking straight.

Great thing with satin black is, you kerb them, you just give them the quick once over again, don't even have to mask the tyres up

I'd go for a really dark metallic grey (anthracite/gun metal) rather than straight black. I'd skip the red centres though. A combo of red and yellow is a bit Ronald McDonald for my liking ;D
