Ok guy's I know that there are ten thousand reasons why I shouldn't be posting this on here in this section not least of all because it's not my car! lol! (wish it was- dream...) Anyway - my reason for posting is that my own armchair restorations are totally put to shame by that wonderful Fiat 130 saloon, the black Westminster, the A55, Obviously.."Tony's" Victor and the innumerable other projects that make me smile and return to your board night after night to find out what England's finest have been upto in the darkest recesses of the shed - apologise to the Fiat 850 from good ol' US of A - seriously neat that one! I reckon that someone in Rover was a regular afficinado of this site when they conjured up the ZT and then stuffed the Mustang V8 in it.... ;D ;D Anyway I'm prattling...basically I came across this this eve and knowing your apparent delight at the ravages of rust that seem to attract you more than a Page three girl (joke!) I thought you might like to see someone else's story that is peppered with Italy, rust, mafia, lawyers, no money and a divorce thrown in and all overlaid of course with an abiding passion and love of cars- a true petrolhead! Thought you'd like... www.stanford.edu/~dtscott/log8.htmlp.s by the way I do have a '66 Lotus Elan which is embroiled in a divorce and a business failure and no money etc etc - maybe one day I'll tell the story

Now that's a hell of a project, and a beautiful car too, I think the Miura is one of the most beautiful cars ever made (except when they're embedded in the front of a bulldozer in an Italian tunnel ;D Look forward to Lotus story

I know, its difficult isn't it to equate $8,000 to what our project are some times worth but that was the whole point of posting the link. I know a Muira or WHY is in a different league but the ethos is the same and thats what made me smile and thought you'd appreciate Last month I flew upto Glasgow and then travelled on for a few hundreds of miles more to buy my dream Jag that turned out to be a crusty heaps of pants lol! I love reading about the different projects - the guy who built the Scimitar with the Omega engine or the Mini Clubman thats dragging it's along the ground with 15 inch wheels, the Chevette with it's V8 or the Herald with the weldathaolon all and every one them absolutely great fun! that's what I love about the passion. Keep 'em rollin.....

Wow. I know this sort of thing is a lot more exotic than the usual stuff on RR, but I love seeing stuff like this. When I'm rich, a Miura will be on my shopping list! ;D Thanks for posting this Carsie, it's a nicely blogged resto!

Plenty of work in that! Looks like it had suffered from previous "restoration" work. Love the factory body number appearing on all the various bits.
