Hi all this is my 1988 Austin Metro which is my daily driver until my other project is completed. I never thought anybody would be interested in it as people just seem to laugh at it, But at a recent meet at the Nottingham cattle market it turned out that there is quite a lot of interest in the old girl.
Here's a picture of the car as it is now.
This was how the car first looked when I started driving, I look back now and I have no idea what I was thinking at the time.
I have repainted and fitted two wings to the car a bonnet the drivers door I've also painted the front valance rear valance both lower sections of the quarters and passenger door.
Those are the images of the bodywork I also refurbished the revolutions that the car proudly wears.
All that hard work was well worth it here are pictures of the car as it stands now.
This was an old image of the car as you can tell you can see the rust, but its next to my friends fantastic beetle Herbie replica.
And here's a few final pics of the metro with my other project which is not quite complete yet.
Please do feel free to comment and say what you think I like to know what people think of my work because I'm an apprentice panel beater with a daily and a project. at first I thought the metro people just laughed at it but proved at a meet-up the other night, it has quite a few fans so Ive decided to show it off more and you will all be seeing it a lot more in the future and hopefully my imp as well, which has been taking me 5 years to build but almost there. This is my first thread so if I have done anything wrong I will try to correct it, I'm not a computer wizz so please be gentle with me cheers Chris.
