Nah golf ones are abit of a myth. My car now has cut down bumpstops and still only has 10mm bump travel :wack:
On the rear iam using mx5 ones which are pretty much a straight swap, but they don't have macpherson strut up front. The golf rears were about 4inches too long.
Corsa ones are supposed to be capable of going ver low and I rear that the pretty much bolt straight on the rear without much modding to the lower bracket. Make sure you get the front and rear coilies not the fronts and adjustab le rear platforms

This car is annoying me a little bit, I want to drive it but it runs like curse word Iam sure its running on 2cyl until I blip it, then it sounds like it runs on all 4 momentarily. Any advice? Its a shame every car I own missfires like #### Gonna give it too tipton I think and pay them to sort it out. Iam so desperate for a car on the road now and I just have zero time until next month. I gotta fix the stupid trailer and drift car for a drift event in 2 weeks!

OMG that sounds like a prewar race car!
You already tuned the carbs with colourtune spark plugs? It might be the idle jetting.

Cheers guys, I got it running real nice last night. I think the bores were to dry because it only had 5bar compression on 3 of the cylinders. I put some oil down the plug holes and turned it over a couple times and then the compression come back up Its gonna be pretty awesome I think, may get a drive in a it a little later

Its running on 2 again appears to be chucking in to much fuel into carb 1 which feeds 1and2 cylinders This is dragging on a bit now!

The carb that feeds cyl 1 and 2 is flooding, does it even with the fuel pump disconnected.
I don't know why I thought putting curse word carbs on was a better idea than keeping the injection. Gonna look into fitting the injection over the next couple days and go from there!

I put some oil down the plug holes and turned it over a couple times and then the compression come back up I always was told that is how you check for shot piston rings, and if the compression goes up you need a new set?

craig.... true but if its flooding that badly itll be bore-washing and taking all the oil off the bores so he has no compression. Probably best to get it running right and then checking compression

Thanks for the ideas and tips Its a shame though cose I have to break the car down now We are moving into a new house on the weekend and I will need a car to get to and from my work (atm I live right round the corner, new house is 7 miles away) I have a couple options atm either insure my 200sx which is already mot and ready to go, just needs a front bumper and headlights fitting back in. The second option is getting 1 of the 2 k11 998cc that I have my eye on. If I get a k11 I can fit my wheels, suspension and exhaust. If I insure my 200sx I can then sell all the micra stuff! Its a shame but needs must and all that!

Engine started to work. Mx5 ran out of mot. 200sx cost too much too insure. I have been driving this car (micra k10) everyday now for a week or two. Ill do an update soon but I can't think straight at the mo because we are moving into a new house and the amount of furniture I have had to build has been overwhelming. Just some quick things I have noted in the couple weeks of daily driving: 1: its actually really quick (I drive 350hp driftcars on weekends) 2: economy isnt bad 3: can carry far more curse word that the mx5 4. It handles better than a gokart (been through twisties at over a ton and its soooo stable) 5: very loud, but sounds amazing 6: gets many looks from people 7: rear springs are far too stiff 8: rear shock is leaking Video update soon

Tried making a video last night but the memory card was more full than I first thought. Also its hard work making a video that doesn't incriminate myself Did a couple jobs last night Fitted the strut brace I made a long time ago Excuse the mess, been making epic quantities of flat pack furniture :wack: and buying washing machines ect ect lol Also replaced the leaky standard mx5 shocks for bilstein mx5 shocks. And also swapped the coilover spring for a pair of standard rear springs from a 200sx. Much much much softer and now the car handles bumps perfectly. Although now the tyres rub a lot but that'll be sorted very soon And I have a touch more roll so I will refit the rear anti roll bar The shock brackets welded to the rear axle were robbed from an xr2I rear axle and work perfectly And got some high lift cams and high compression pistons coming soon so it'll be very quick soon. For a 1.3 anyways!
