I knew it was a bad idea booking an MOT on Friday the 13th...
Anyway my E36 BMW 318is has failed, not badly, but the items are:
Both front to rear brake pipes excessively corroded - I'm told you need to drop the fuel tank to replace these, is this an on the driveway job, or best left to someone with a lift?
Emissions high - CO and Lambda both reading high (not got the readings yet) Can this be cured with an 'italian tune' ie a razz up and down the motorway to get the cat good and hot, and possibly an oil/filter service? Lambda sensors are £££ so I'd really rather avoid procuring one.
Any hints would be gratefully received!
