Just started to do a little tidying on the fiat, had planned to just rub down and spray the bonnet as it was looking a bit tatty Got it sanded down, looking good, all the little stone chips sanded smooth.Just the one area of rust on the front corner which was a bit worse than I thought and a few prods later Decided then that I may as well do the whole front end of the car so went ahead and took the grill and bumper off and I really like how it looks without the bumper. So my plan at the moment is to cut out the the other two squares on the front, get down the scrap yard and see if I can find some different indicators and some how incorparate the side lights in to the main unit.Electrics is not my strong point so any words of wisdom welcome. Got this pic off the net and its what I've got in mind, without being a race car!Where its orange on the front I'm going to do it all black.

Great to see one of these gettin' some love!
My cousin had a 'nana yella one back in '92ish, rolling on black painted '3P' alloys, looked pretty good.
Best of luck with the project!

That looks excellent without the bumpers, and the plans sound like they'll make it look pretty cool too

I look forward to seeing it. Do you think that a black front valance might just look like you hadn't painted it?

Got the holes filled on the bonnet edge and the pieces cut out of the front, lights taken off and prepped for priming found some side repeaters off a Punto to go on the front but they were smaller than the holes so I got some thick washers and welded them on from behind and smoothed round with a little filler All primed and ready for the top coat Having got the front all in primer I've changed my mind about doing it all black.I'll paint it black behind the grill and round the lights and then keep the rest silver.Got hold of some aluminium mesh to go behind the five holes and going to try and find some slim side lights to go in where the bumper irons went.

This is shaping up nicely, it's going to be great! Was it your 127 that came to the Limes Cafe meet a while ago?

I can remember a mate of mine had a 1300GT in black, that thing was bloody quick for a standard car. Its a shame you don't see many of these Fiats any more, but I suppose most of them have rusted away a long time ago.

Nearly there, just need to wire up the front indicators and sidelights. The paint is far from perfect but done to the best of my ability and a lot better than it was. Just need to whip off the back bumper and tidy a few things.

looking good.
have you considered swapping your side repeaters to the punto side repeaters too ? or binning the original side repeaters ? they aint a requirement on a car of that age.
