Its also got xsara VTS front struts and 306 gti-6 brakes, Its got a quick rack and is 2.3 turns lock to lock, no problems with torque steer as its got a tran-x LSD in it, the gear box is a Reconditioned Xsara VTS Box and its had some sort of flashy clutch which without digging out the paperwork cant remember what one, The engine had a full rebuild just before it went in and is now pushing out 169bhp
Got full service history and stacks of paperwork and another stack of paperwork relating to the conversion.
Think I might put some clear front indicators on and maybe some 1.9 alloys

If it were mine I'd leave it as it is, and upset a few people in their moderns.

Yeah definately leave as is. Looks different BECAUSE it's standard, and on pepperpots. PLEEEASE don't go down the 1.9 route with Speedlines and clear indicators, just leave it as is. Mega sleeper...

Looks spot on matey, best colour too ! Do gti-6 brakes fit under 14's now then ? Nope because there still in the boot!! If I get larger wheels they can go on but I quite like the look of the peperpots, at the moment its just got the 1.9 ally calipers and vented 1.6 discs

Love the looks! A real sleeper.
But I can understand that you would like bigger brakes, wouldn't 15" steelies be a solution?

I see, I thought I missed something huge there ! I like 1.6 rims but they are a PITA to get balanced properly (round here anyway) and 1.9's are a standard wheel any way, oh and a bit of a drop might not go amiss , this might help you decide, they're even the right colour

That's a lovely looking car, and sounds like a top conversion too. Please leave it standard, at least don't strip it out, find a dog rough one to do that too! I've stripped mine and I have to say I wish I'd left it standard (It might not have taken three years then to get it to where it is at the moment ) 1.9 wheels and clear indicators are pretty easy to undo though

It does seem a shame to rip the inside out as its SO clean inside, and I would only change things that could be easly put back to std (apart from the engine!!)
Have thought about putting the peugeot talbot sport sticker set on it as its white and there easy to take off

That is a lovely GTi . However I'm going to be 'sad' and echo the above. I'd even be tempted to keep the stock calipers. 1.6s are quite a delicate handling car with sharp responses thanks to their weight. The 306 setups weigh twice as much as the 1.6/1.9 setup, which you'll also need to put into the equation of braking power (unsprung weight). Whilst mine is only a 1.6, on Mintex M1144 pads, ATE Super Blue brake fluid and Miles' (PugRacing) brake lines it stops very well and reasuringly. Even the 'ring and the GP circuit of it didn't trouble them (I may have wrung 100mph out of the straight before I brake quite suddenly) . Balancing the 1.6 wheels my local can do fine, but my regular garage can't seem to . If you do decide to go with the GTi-6 setup brakewise, take a few casting marks off the rims and remove the wheel weights . So, when are you going to offer rides in this awesome machine?

Mega sleeper... yes but the 1.9 alloys are one of the nicest oem wheel designs of all time (from any hot hatch of any era) they just look so damn good
