I have so far failed to find a pic of the Peugeot 806 MPV that competed in the Spa 24hrs some years back... It was entered at Spa once, built with Supertourer-parts, which explains the stance ;D IIRC they didn't start at the race as there were problems with the high center of gravity. It wasn't unstable at all. It qualified in twelfth position and retired just after 1am with engine failure. How about the Rolls Royce Corniche that entered the Paris-Dakar in 1981? Seeing a Renault 4 up there, the Mareu brothers finished 2nd and 3rd on the Dakar in an R4 in 1979 and 1980. How about these from the Nurburgring 24 Hours 2005 2009 There was a VW T4 Transporter took parts a few years back too but I can't find a pic. Finished a place or two ahead of a Ferrari 360 Challenge as I recall, though both well down the order. and my favourite, DTV prepped Panther Lima, RAC rally 1978.

Aw, you edited out the VW van just as I was quoting your post! Anyway, it runs a 2.0TDI pushing out 270bhp, and now races under RAC colours.

Coooool. thx for enlightening me, thou shalt recieve weird 24h entries as a reward All from '99 from '98, finished as 6th in it's class Diesel powered, actual ex-cab 2005 2005, still taking part each year, annoying the other drivers with it's lack of pace. Bone stock, all the way to the slushbox 2005 yupp, that's a A8 W12 L. ...and it's Racing interior. I can recommend this thread, too: Linkcheers

Get some funny looks when I race my truck on track days at Castle Coombe as I can pass most quick stuff on track with it!

In the 1930s, there was a class for busses on the Monte carlo rally and they carried fare paying passengers. 1934. Citroen. 1935. Ford - This one apparently had a toilet on board for the added comfort of the twelve passengers. 1936. Minerva 1937. Bedford

epic! Video of the same corner. Great thread, although missing something: Die rote Sau ;D The second car in fact is a replica with a stock 6.3l engine (though there are plans of building another AMG 6.8l engine) The original car was sold to Matra/Michelin to be stretched and then used as a development mule for aircraft tires. It was scrapped in th early nineties
