I'm advertising this on behalf of my mate. It's also on eBay here. He works in a body shop and really knows his stuff, so this car is done to a really high standard.
This car has had a lot of time and money spent on it during the past three and a half years that I have owned it! Recent work carried out includes; brand new fuel pump fitted, re-cored radiator, new rear shock absorbers and has just been fully serviced. It has also had a new old stock "fibre toothed" balance shaft gear wheel fitted (the equivalent to a modern cars cambelt), which was a very rare, and expensive part to buy and have fitted! The Saab has also been fully undersealed and wax oiled, and the underbody has only ever had two small plates of welding (carried out to a very high standard) in 35 years and it is not going to need any more in the forseeable future! Also, the interior has been professionally re-trimmed and is beautiful, apart from a small area of the headlining around the parcel shelf that could do with a little bit of tidying. I have recently had a new battery fitted aswell.
The exterior of the car has been re-painted in light grey two pack paint and looks great (the V5 still states the body colour as being red, just haven't got around to changing it yet). There is a small blemish just starting to become apparent on the front edge of the bonnet, whereas the rest of the Saabs paintwork is excellent. The car sits somewhat lower than a standard Saab 96 due to it having lowered suspension, but there is a full set of standard coil springs included in the sale. The exhaust has been replaced with a larger bore pipe from front to rear and sports a stainless steel rear exhaust box which sounds great. This also can easily be changed to a standard pipe as I know it is not to everyones taste! The only thing that lets the car down slightly is that the gearbox whines a bit, it has been like this ever since I bought it and has never caused me any problems. It has a four speed column change gearlever, which can be a little strange at first but you soon get used to it after a couple of miles.
Well, I think that is everything covered. I have tried to be as honest as possible in my description of the Saab. If you have any questions about it or would like me to send any additional pictures of specific areas of the car, then feel free to ask.
