Fully forged, Sierra XR4x4i 3litre V6 on a Single Turbo (HOLSET Truck turbo)

Since built its been run in, with 2 fresh oil changes.
Turbo Technics top inlet chamber, polished internal.
Solid block, machined, honed. Better core plugs.
Fully powder coated Engine/Parts/Components.
Stage 3 Ferriday gas flowed cylinder heads/ port polished inlet & outlets with sodium filled exhaust valves.
Chrome rocker covers.
High torque/lift camshaft + group a valve kit, oversized oil galleries.
JE Forge ceramic coated pistons, Balanced Steel 'H' beam con rods with fully floating small ends.
Electronic waterpump
Girdled sump which bolts up through the sump into the main case strengthening the bottom end allowing the engine to rev round.
Bottem end has had work, Lightened & Balanced, flywheel.
Billit machined crank, Oil squirt rail fitted + YV oil pump drive, wet sump.
Siemens deka 630 high pressure injectors
Cometic steel gasket set and 'o' ring set
Mocal oil cooler, Oilstat-10JIC
Various uprated Braided hoses and pipes.
Red Magnecor HT Leads
+ Loads of other odds and sodds....

For the running in process its had a Garret T4 Turbo and stock exhaust manifolds fitted, ideally for the true power you should have a custom set of manifolds made. I have a Holset Turbo here to go on instead of the T4. Iv also got a Uprated actuator.

4X4 Gearbox is Reyland big tooth straight cut box. Brand new and powdercoated

Quaife ATB machined Diffs, brand new and powdercoated

All 4 drive shafts, Antiroll bars, Balanced prop-shaft, Pollybushed up, Subframe, Uprated fuel pumps & Coil pack, Brand new whishbones and hubs. Backend cradle, Fuel tank, Brand new steering rack, Brand new starter motor, HKS Bov.....etc etc

EVERYTHING is either Brand new or Reconditioned and powdercoated!
Has been run on Antilag and Launch control

With the spec of engine, on the holset using right management it will see 600bhp without probs. This engine is built to be withstand high power and to be as reliable as possible. It is sold as an Excellent runner!!!!

The xr4x4i was nicknamed a 'cossie' since produced. Like a rover coupe n/a and turbo modals was nicknamed Tomcat.
Various components on this engine are same or simular to be had on a YB lump. Hence why I added the apostrophe and didn't specifically state Cosworth.

I wouldn't have thought there would be much of a YB you could use on this, part from turbo, seein as its a 2 valve per cylinder v6. Plus aren't these engines the one with one cam in block??

First time I've ever heard anyone claim an XR4x4 is/was called a 'cossie'. There's absolutely no Cosworth in those cars in the slightest. You may be thinking of the Granny Scorpios with the Cosworth-headed 24V V6, but that's it.

Who built the engine? The spec is quite familiar. What's the Holset turbo spec?

And what do you value it all at?

It's a 2.8 Cologne V6 originally by the looks. I can't see it doing 600bhp. A mate had a 4.5 litre stroked one running 50psi of boost through 2 turbos and a supercharger and it didn't make that power.

plus it appears that truck turbos never actually been fitted to it, theres no manifolds and management to run it.

i could lay a truck turbo next to my engine too, doesnt instantly give it mega powarz though..... someones gotta do the development to make it work, create power, and not go bang. so i don't see how you could sell it as reliable/proven either seeing as its barely run in and hasnt been driven, from what you say.

oh and fully powder coating engine components like this isnt recommended, it acts as a thermal barrier- thats why no-one does it.

this setup is what, 350hp at best?

xr4x4 was never nicknamed anything other than 'chocolate diff'

and this plastic covered 2.9 12 valve is NOT a cosworth

I know nothing of fords at all.... however if I was selling an engine with a reputed 600bhp I would make more of an effort to show it in its fully built concourse spec condition preferably with a vid/pic or two of the car it was fitted into originally. Not a collection of (albeit) shiny painted engine bits sat on a rusty pickup tailgate...

Before last rebuild it was put on 'Torque of the Devil' dyno and made 516.9bhp, with 539lbs/ft torque @ 25psi. It's got Omex on it but this isn't forsale. I'll take a pick n put the printout up when I'm home from work.
The engine is built for over 600! Holset will obviously pass that, and doesn't take much to fit!

This engine has been run in correctly and used, it's an Excellent runner and power is almost instant.

nice power figure I would have said more to be honest if you remember they were the tuners choice for big power applications back in the day not . and dyno sheets really don't cut it .ive seen cars make an extra 100 to 150 bhp just from putting the temp probe in the rad
