That's a late on -only 2 months away from Gen 2- although there must be an A reg lurking out there. Suprised at leather as afaik Accord Executive never had it -in fact hardly any Japanese cars did - Prelude might have been only one at the time

Interesting original buyer traded a Rover 2000 for it, my Aunt traded-in her mothers Rover P6 3500 auto to buy the '79 Accord hatch I now have. Great to see some more pictures of it, the gold & leather are nice. My '81's Longleet gold (bronze) being far more gaudy with cream cloth. www.cardomain.com/ride/2055109/1979-honda-preludeHad similar rust under the windscreen, naturally found more under the trims running up the pillars to repair. So understandably I didn't want to refit those trims after repairs. Still have to attack it again round the wiper though since it's bubbling & must have been some hidden between the outer cowl panel & the wiper pivot mounting piece. Check under the bitumen under the wiper motor too. Not so easy to access, I cut the outer panel free on this one to repair before being distracted by a 2nd near identical example Rusty sills are common since the sun-roof drained into them... & that boot seal area! I know mine harbors more under the rear windscreen seal too but am avoiding that so far. Interesting Steering wheel Leather(?) trims you have too, though must admit I couldn't stand the original steering wheels & currently have CR-X one... & tempted by a 2g Prelude wheel.

yea they are !! they are on the option list !!!!
ive got a new wheel for it as i agree the original one is like a bus steering wheel !!!! lol !!!
The panel under the windscreen has been fiberglased !!!!!!!!!!!! not by me !
The pillers are in good condition
my sills seem o.k. gota weld the driver side one up a bit round the drain hole and by the back arch !
once i get the wife's car back on the road i can get in to doing some work on the prelude !!!
how do find sourcing parts as in the uk you got more chance of a wooden poor quality wobbly children's play pony taking a poo lol !!!!

Sourcing parts isn't great, as I was reminded today when I inquired about a gearbox selector oil seal at a dealer for the '77 Accord I'm trying to Roadworthy. They didn't have any information that old and had never been updated beyond microfiche prior to 1985! and seriously proposed querying wreckers about such parts from 2nd hand Japanese imports (not likely for anything over 15yrs)! Similarly I couldn't get a replacement engine mount and am rebuilding one with urethane adhesive. . "Professional" Honda wreckers rarely seem to bother with anything over 20 as being uneconomic when many people just start to dump cars before that age, leaving the smaller or "self-serve" wreckers which might be given a car now and then. My local one has actually served me well though they may not have a donor for months then will have two... then may still scrap the immaculate car they've just been given & keep the stripped remains of another. Things certainly don't look good for the future though with too many service parts suppliers falling into "computer-says-no" mode with minimal descriptions of parts that would be common across a slew of cars and nothing in stock for simple measurement. Regardless of whether they have parts or not some of the online Parts books such as Hondapartsnow or www.cmsnl.com can be invaluable for finding parts common to other models.

I'm going to restore it as much as i can do a few mod's here and there but nothing that lokks stupid ! apart from that as the saying goes ''if it aint broke' don't fix it'' in other words just keep it as it was back in 1983 !!!!
