The Quando wheel had a tyre and tube hanging off it. I put it back on. When I got home I found it had 4 punctures. Thinks from rough treatment from someone removing it. Got the punctures fixed with 2 patches. As 3 holes were in an inch of each other. The seat pins only 3" long, thats not cut down. Formed ends on both ends. Rusty too. But its 27.2mm. All my pins are 25.4mm. I went back to scrap yard on friday. with a shopping list of 7 speed wheels, 3 speed wheels, a 27.2mm seat pin, have a look at the Bart Simpson cruiser bike. Well I got 5 wheels. A black 7 speed cassette wheel. 2 silver wheels, one 6, one 7 speed freewheel. A black front wheel. very nice. A black BMX rear wheel. 3/8" axle, 48 spoke. Also got a metal CD rack that looks a bit like a vintage car grill 10KG of steel. £3 The Bart Simpson was the small 16" bike. The brake studs broken off the long chrome forks. I left it. But might get the moon bars and BMX quill stem off it. I couldnt see a bike with a 27.2mm seat pin. I did see some good BMXs. There was a Jamie Beswick signature frame and some bits. Also a Mongoose Mischeif. and a nice sky blue frame. All didnt have wheels. But looked out 4 wheels with 14mm axles. One had a tiny cog on it. I might get them another time. Not so keen on modern bmxs

the 7 speed cassette wheel is one I used to own. I gave away lots of stuff last year when moving. I gave it to a neighbour that does car boot sales in town. so geuss someone bought it off him. Or he chucked it to the scrapyard. It had a worn cassette when I had it. Nothings changed. So will have to get a new one. I got a cassette lockring remover off ebay. not seen a cheap cassette yet. The BMX wheel will go on my Burner. will sand the streaky black anodising of the sides. Ive got a silver rear wheel already. but its mangled and havent managed to true it up. I noticed that my Tescos bike has a broken spoke. so one of the wheels is spares for that. the nice black front wheel and silver 7 speed has stainless spokes. Might build them into other wheels tho

:-Xgot upto the scrapyard again. whats this Ive bagged up to get it on the bus? A Raleigh Panache mixte frame. I used to have one. was chopping it about. but my welding was rubbish. so gave up on it. This one, I will see if 20" wheels and suspension forks fit on it. maybes put my ape bars on it. or get the Bart simpson bike for its moon bars. Oh yeah. I got 4 wheels and a pair of chunky forks. A pair of low end mtb wheels. a 7 speed cassette mtb wheel. a ritchey racer wheel, no cassette tho. fancied getting am Apollo alloy hybrid. looked mostly all there. no wheels. there was a reynolds 500 racer frame. no components. would like a racer. An Alloy rigid mtb frame with components. I would have got those frames. but stuff I got was 16.5kg. so weighed down a bit. was £6

I tried my fork selection in the panache. 20" suspensoin forks are too short on steerer. so is my 26" threaded steerer suspension forks. My Zoom Bigfoot forks are aheadset. so too thick. Think its the rigid 26" mtb forks are the only ones to fit. there from a bike left in the woods. very pitted with rust. I built up my Raleigh Burner. I had got the wheel less bike at the scrap yard. I got a BMX rear wheel there. I had no real problems building it up. The headsets knackered. But tightened it up too much, the forks don't rock in frame now. no noticable binding. The chopped down steel seat pins at maximum. It bent when I tried it. cheeky git. I'm not that fat. I went upto the BMX track and took photos and did a couple of laps. Its good. My sd card readers broken. so no uploads.

Thanks for the comment. Hope theres good things to read. I remembered my dongles got a micro sd card slot. so heres a pic of my Burner at the bmx track. I left my BMX in the bedroom. heard a bang. Looked around the house for things that had fallen down or something. Then later I saw something about the size of a 50p a bit away from the bike. was a bit of the inner tube. Ussually when a tube explodes. It pushes the tyre off the rim. but it was still seated on rim. I had the wheel in the house with a securely seated, inflated tyre for a few days. Ive got some more bike frames. An alloy y frame with steel unified rear triangle. its got steel cranks, shimano mechs, chrome chain. Ive wanted to have a plain Y frame. but modded to be simple of lines. drill the frame for internal cables. no garish stickers. I had done a lot of work on some rusty old frames a while ago. This should be better. It takes oversize forks. so might fit my Bigfoot forks in it. will paint strip the Y to shiny alloy. spray the rear triangle silver. The other bike I got is an Apollo XC26s. Its not got the front wheel. otherwise its all there. well on first glance. But the rear wheels wabbly on the straigth axle. so hopefully it'll be disintegrated bearings. But probably the hub bearing cup broken up. Theres no springs or grub screws in the rear V brake. No inner brake pad on the disc caliper. No top part to the aheadset. Its a 20" alloy frame. Maybe a bit of a stretch for me. So might part it out. Use the cranks and seat post on the Y. Use the Ys cranks on the woods bike. Get the woods bike sold.

I staggered into the police station after 12 o clock. The officer said, oh not you. But it wasnt after chucking out time. It was after I had jumped in the river. well tentatively stepped into the icy water. My air cushioned soles were difficult to submerge in the fast flowing current. I didnt get swept away in the stream. As it was only about a foot deep and there was pipes at about 5 feet above it. so holding onto them. I had seen a BMX in the river. Beside a bridge. So I went to get it. Its a low end bike from 2007, thats stamped on the bars. Its got no rear brake pads, straddle wire, grips. Looking at the pics. Its got bent forks. that'd explain the pads rubbing the tyre. I was going to bike home on it. But the cog or chain has problems. think the freewheel springs are broken. as sometimes jumps. but then the chain started derailing. So I took it to the police lost property. Heres it at the wall near cop shop I was thinking of building it up. I don't think I have suitable forks. So will strip it out. Axles are 3/8", so wheels can go on my burner or folder

I was at the scrap yard again this week. Got an Apollo Crosstrack hybrid frame. The Moon bars off the Bart Simpson bike are badly rusted. But got them. RST Gila forks. I striped out the stainless spokes and Deore front hub from a buckled wheel. I found the panaches forks. But forgot to bring them out. The hobbit in the shed is a good guy. I went over with the frame and a bucket on a sack barrow I had found. He tested the sack barrow with a magnet. Its alloy. So he said keep it aside. I told him the bikes alloy too. But he didnt listen. So the stuff was £5 for 16kg. and the barrow was £1.50. Ive got 700c wheels, from ebay. was going to build a 3 speed hub in them, for my Raleigh traveller. Not done that. The drive side spokes are chewed by the chain. but stainless spokes seem to be right size. Always wanted a hybrid bike. I stripped it out at bus station. with few tools in my bag. easy enough. Ive mostly rebuilt it. needs a seat, pin and clamp. think the XC26s ones will fit it.

I was going to get a racer frame. reynolds 500 tubing, black painted. but hardly any parts there to build it up. There was a 27" alloy wheel on a nice normandy large flange hub, the other week. But wheel was gone. The racers on my racers thread are gone. will have been given away to bike shop or scrapped. Just over a year ago I got rid of everything when I was thrown out of my old house by my wicked step brother. Heres one of the (over) loads that my sister took to the dump.

Its a shame you had to get rid of all your bikes makes my collection look tiny sounds like you are building it back up again don't think my local police would be interested in gettin rid of lost property tbh but might give it a try not much in the papers now and alot of people are putting bikes on ebay, but i am still finding a few off to the tip tomoz to see what else i can find there are normally a few there the best ive haf so far is a kona fire mountain which only needed a bit of tlc and back wheel had xt gearsets in it and rockshox!!!

The bikes I have put in lost property, are ones Ive found. Theres been a few over the years. My Xmas bike, Apollo FS26. It was found in the woods across from the river where I found the BMX last week. Things you find are put in storage and you get a letter. After 2 or 3 months you can collect them. If the owner hasnt been upto cops. They don't give you back mobile phone, keys, or ilegal substances. I'm waiting for a Raleigh Calypso mtb. A Raleigh Dorado MTB. A Chrome BMX. A watch. Some cops have auctions of lost property. Think its Bumble Bee, or something like that, online. Or they put stuff into a local auction. I was working on the silverfox. Its got a big swoopy swingarm. V brakes on top. But cant get the pads to contact the rim properly. Bit of an angle. Ive put an alloy V brake on. Will look at the rusty steel V brake. See if its been bent to fit.

I'm wary of getting loads of bikes, like I had before. I'm thinking I will sort up a the bikes I have. Then the woods bike, and the tescos bike might get sold. Maybe my Xmas bike too. Keep my white bike as its a folder. Blue bike as its a 3 speed roadster, and holds the record to get to town. The hybrid as it will be a fast bike. Alloy frame and 700c wheels. Its a fight between the Silver fox or the Alloy Y as what will be my mountain bike. Silverfox needs assembled. Alloy Y is just a frame just now. Think it needs new swingarm bearings. And all the parts too obviously. But since its in rough condition. Its ripe to get modded. Planning on internal cables. As the cable routing on these bikes is just wrong. :/ My Burner will be my BMX. The chrome bmx will probably just get stripped for parts. The Raleigh Calypso that I'm waiting on. Its got the slightly bigger headset that Burners use. So hopefully it will replace the brinelled headset on the Burner.

Ive biked to town on the xmas bike a few times this week. I got soaked to the skin the first day. As it started to rain after I left town. don't like turning back theres virtually no brakes on xmas bike. lever right back to the bar and still moving. the front brake hardly works, and when used, it squeals like crazy. Ive tried toeing the pads. Its seems like the v brake arms are wobbling on the studs. really annoying. tho I have found a use for it. I had my radio on the earphones. going down a icy hill. they played JLS. So I feathered the front brake to drown them out. I had some luck for a change today. I went to the college to get my haircut. I got seen by a gorgeous young woman, called Chelsea. I used to have a Chelsea Capitol folder bike. It was a nasty euro folder in the style of Universal folders. The charge for the haircut was £1. But they didnt have change for £20. so free. I went upto the scrap yard today. I seen a load of metal in the middle of the yard. But there was a big lake under it. I climbed along the steel peninsula. Got a pair of disc wheels. cast alloy hubs, quick release. 7 speed cassette. 160mm discs. 2.3" tyres. black annodised hubs and rims. I also got a drill stand. 11kg metal. £5 I had my xmas bike. so wired the wheels together and hung them over the bars. The drill stand didnt fit the drill at the centre. so I took it back. got £2 for it. I tried to bike with wheels on bars. but kept rubbing the tyre. So hang around the centre for a while. got the krackerjack train home. Its friday and its 5 to 5. The conductor was standing beside me when I got on. but he went that way. so I got a free train home. There was a Brompton beside the bike rack. but the man had folded it. I got my xmas bike on the rack. I could put the disc wheels on the silverfox. as I cant get the rear v brake set up. Its got disc mounts on both ends. Ive got 2 artek calipers. but ones missing a pad. there dear.

the silver fox doesnt have rear disc mount. must be rack mount holes or something. I tried the disc rear wheel in there. 2.3 tyre was difficult to get in thru the open v brake. the overlocknut width fits the frame. 135mm. my other 7 speed wheel I had in there was 10mm or more, thinner. which puzzled me. I spannered a few bikes today. I took the rear wheel out of the white bike. Its had a loose mudguard bolt for a while. I heard something shooting out the mudguard. then the guard started rubbing on the tyre. I thought the stainless steel hex nut had gone. It was still there. just very loose. I tightened it up. tightened the chainguard too. Its ok now. I got the tescos bike out. I looked for a spoke for it. Fitted one. trued up the wheel. It works. But theres a lot of loose spokes still. so needs more work. I did some work om the Raleigh traveller 3 speed roadster. I had built new alloy rims onto the hubs. fitted blue v brake pads to the strumey archer chrome steel caliper brakes. It still needs work on truing the front wheel. as it bobs a bit. the front brake squeals. I think it must be the rim bobbing up and down. The pads are mega difficult to adjust. as the gimball washers keep on falling in to the slightly too wide slots. grrrr. rear brakes ok. Ive got a pair of weinmann alloy brakes to fit on it. I'll try the v brake pads in them. Or might have to fit the smaller, harder bmx pads that was on the white bike. they are little used. still think theyve been in the bike shop a long time I had a look at the 700c hybrid rear wheel I got from ebay. its spokes are dirty. the 9 drives side spokes have been sawed thru by the chain dropping behing the freewheel. I havent measured any spokes. I seen a really buckled front wheel at the scrap yard. so I found a screwdriver and undid the nipples and removed the stainless spokes and the deore hub. The spokes are the right length for the rear wheel. so I fitted 9. I think I'll wait till Ive got my boiler repaired, before I brillo pad the hub and rim, sand the streaky anodising off the rim sides. The gas man came on friday. didnt phone. I was at an appointment. 2 weeks Ive not had hot water. apart from electic shower and kettles of water. :/

Since the tescos bikes working. I thought I would go to town. As the gas mans not coming today. :/ I got to the outskirts of my town. but the gears were making noise. I looked at the shadow. something wrong with chain. The transmission on this bikes worn out. I thought it was a stiff link. Its a broken link. I tried to gently bike home. but the link pushed the mech into the spokes twice. skidding to a stop. So I walked home. I got the chain tool and popped the link out. But pushing the rivet thru, It put a shard of metal from the side plate. I pushed it with my finger. Cut my finger. bleeding pretty well. I pushed the rivet out and removed more links. Trued up the wheel a bit more, till my finger stopped bleeding. Then rotated my watches bezel, and set of to town. Its very windy. Tail wind mostly. But theres a mile to traverse across from the sea side to inland path. very slow there. It still did the trip to town in 30 minutes for the 6.38miles. equal time to xmas bike. xmas bike did it last week on a part flooded road. I got to the centre I go to. the manic boss has set some new rules. Mostly to annoy me. I had a wooden bar stool I was going to work on there. But not allowed now. so I strapped it to the blackburn rack and biked to the dump. I went to weatherspoons at lunch. locked tescos bike to the bike pole thing. I come out the pub. It had fallen over outside the pub. Hey..Ive never done that. :/ The front light come apart. one battery lost. No great loss, as cheapo leds arent very good. I went back to the centre. they're nuts there now. throwing a lot of stuff out. some that the mad boss had brought. I'm supposed to be running a project to make a garden there. A man had offered slabs. he brought them last week. there crummy flag stones. not slabs. not very big or many of them. we was supposed to make a path and sort of patio with them. So the smokers could sit on the wobbly garden table they made. couldnt get a deck chair on them. I had got a broom and rake, to use at the centre. As there brooms were all broken. They didnt have a rake. I had dug a third of the garden area, previously. But then one of the staff was on about you cant lay slabs on soft, freshly dug soil. The area needed levelled. It needs dug and raked for that. grrrr. Only staff are allowed in the tool room. So I asked the man to get my rake. I said this is my broom. I cut the broom up and in my rucksack with it. rake strapped to bike. went to scrap yard with rake. It don't weigh much. so just left it there. I went to dump. But they were moving skips or summat. so didnt drop off the broom. I'm sick of the centre. Its the only place I have to go to. As I'm never going to have a job. But probably wont go back. I went to get a train home. as theres no way I could get home, into the wind. Tescos bike tried to vandalise the train. swaying on the bike rack and thumping the wall. Been pulling big skids on tesco bike. Its got good brakes and rubbish tyres. Its the last day I'm using that bike. I was meaning on stripping it out and taking scrap to scrap yard. but it would cost more to take it, than would get
