Right I recently picked up a Vauxhall Omega 2.5 V6 manual, which I've lowered, welded the diff and have removed some of the interior all in the name of using it as a skid car.
Unfortunately the clutch seems to be slipping when I violently snatch up a gear i.e. 1st to 2nd gear (although I'm told it maybe the flywheel playing silly buggers, anyway.....) It doesn't seem to do it when put in a high gear up a hill or when launching hard. Either way it's not ideal, what I was wondering is can I uses a C/X25XE Vectra, Cavalier or Calibra fly wheel and clutch? The number of splines on the input shaft are the same so the friction plate should be okay, the only major difference seems to be the diameter of the plate the Omega is 240mm the FWD is 230mm. I'm presuming the crank has the same bolt pattern??
Any help or advice is welcome.

Same engine chap. I THINK Johnny A used a V6 flywheel in his LET carlton to mate it with the box, but knowing him, any problems would of been overcome and no one would know. The difference is depth, FWD ones arent as deep as the RWD ones. I don't know if its enough to be an issue though.
Depending one what youre spending, I know a company that does solid lightweight flywheels for Omegas, but they're 250

As said above, the flywheels are interchangable in terms of bolting on

Go over to mig and advertise for one you`ll get one for next to nowt to at least try. They`re the heaviest peices of pig iron you can imagine and the fwd boys chuck them in favour of the 20xe ones as they`re way lighter.

Do the 4 pot flywheels just bolt up to the V6 crank then or do they need re-drilling? Mmmmmm interesting.

XE and LET bolt to V6, 8v are different number of bolts. I don't know about ecotec
This is the general knowledge, never done it personally.

xe/let/v6 have 8 bolts. 8v and ecotec have 6 bolts (eco is just the 8v bottom end with different pistons). Its not wether it`ll bolt to the crank that i think might be your problem, its the thickness of it and wether the thrust bearing will be able to push the clutch fully back.
