I'm looking at replacements for the busted fuel tank in the Bond. A Land Rover Series under-seat fuel tank looks like a good candidate, but I could do with knowing the general dimensions. Does anyone have a tank they could measure up for me? Bit of a long shot I know...

(A) they are quite heavy gauge steel so weigh quite a bit. (B) if you do go for LR tank only consider new (cheap) as they are double skinned on lower panel and rot between the layers even if they look sound from outside.

Task - if nobody comes up with the figures today, that would be great if you could! Thanks. Composimmonite - New tanks are so cheap it hardly seems worth getting a 2nd hand one. My tank is fairly weighty, so a little more weight won't hurt - it might keep the back end planted a bit more! ;D

No drama!
Just looked at your mockup in your thread, seems its fits everywhere bar its length. Is the old tank angled to fit over summat, or is there space to squeeze it in?

Yea the tank is angled to avoid the wheelarch. I am thinking of mounting the tank in the middle between the arches. I'd get back the boot space left by the old tank that way.
If I got a tank to fit where the old one was I reckon it'd be quite small as I'd never get an angled tank like the original, and I don't fancy constantly filling up.
Landy tank is prime candidate at the moment!
