Just changed to winter tyres. Bloody noisy things. Bargain though. Got a full set on rims, done under 1000km, 45€. Can now paint the others ready for the spring. But anyway, what mods are you doing to prep your car for winter?

I use rain-x on the inside of my windows, makes it easier to get the condensation off with a squeegee, and the windscreen clears up faster
havnt got any winter tyres yet, but have changed from a set of 185/55/14's to 165/65/13's as last year I had trouble with snow on the wider tyres, but when I was running 145/80/13's I had no problems

I make sure mine have got plenty of petrol in, would hate it to snow on a day i'm skint and can't go out to play.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

Winter tyres, an uprated steering stabiliser, a full service and a thorough checkover, including lubricating all the hinges and UJ's, regassing the AC and so on to make sure it won't suffer and is in prime condition

Wellers with winter/snow tyres went on the Herald and the green steels on the Hillman a few weeks ago. No way I'm running those chromies through the winter! Manual Herald heater tap was also opened up all the way. Other winter prep for the Hillman will hopefully be an MOT pass tomorrow!

I can't say I'm relishing the winter in the Bond. Providing I can get it running nicely, I need to sort out the heater / demister. I would dearly love to somehow stop the ice forming on the inside of the windows. I'm not really sure how yet. Some door seals will most likely help, and new weather strips for the side windows. The rear screen isn't heated, but I'm not sure I can solve that problem. That ices up like nothing else! Maybe one of those electric blower thingies. I'd like two-speed wipers - there's nothing worse than driving through torrential rain with the wipers lazily swaying across the screen doing not much at all!

I've got some steels for my saab, not to save the alloys, just to save me having to pay to get summer tyres put back on when the snows gone. This way I've only paid once got some Goodyear M&Ss, apparently really good! ;D

Turned the DAF airfilter to winter setting and installed the factory air dam over the grill. Also retensioned drive belts and fixed the low hold switch

The benz got winter tyres (free!). And I ordered a kg of the finest military spec petroleum jelly and a bit of bees wax to preserve the bodywork & mechanics Just the basical stuff... Topped up anti freeze and put away a few coins for regular de-salting & washing. The Mini got a smear of anti corrosion grease in every sill & seam. Put on 20 year 12" tyres - and put it away over winter.

trying to find cash for an estelle to amuse myself in the snow...(please check my clearout thread in for sale to help fund this and my new unit) Stellar effort sir!! The E28 got new wheels and tyres this week - tyres that aren't bald that is! And I might make the heater work too as blowing cold air on the windscreen isn't a great help.
