Yet another bodywork question!

So ive shot a couple of coats of 2K top coat on the mini and its coverd it all ok but the finish is pretty bad! (orange peely and a sort of 'dusty' finish in places where the 2nd coat was a bit thin)

I'm not sure what to do next relly.

Do i

A. Try and colour sand it with some 1500grit (will 2 coats of paint be enough to colour sand it or will it just go through easly?)

B. Flat it off with some 400 grit again and shoot another coat of paint and hope i get a better finish this time?

Time is of the essence and its relly curse word me off that i cant bolt all my siney new parts n stuff on the car so i need it done asap! Its not relly the attitude to have when doing this kind of stuff but but i hate painting !

Its a direct gloss? I'd gently key it and put another coat on so theres plenty to rub back. A mate went through the factory paint on his Mazda MX5 in no time just by hand.

2 biggest mistakes DIYers make are to put coats on too heavy and/or not put enough coats on. I do this (the latter) and rubbing thoguh is such a pain

Well it looks like i cant get more paint untill friday anyway so i think i will have a go with some 1500 tomorrow and see what happens. If it goes through then its no big deal il just go to plan B.

This whole painting melarky is a steep learning curve! All this work and I'm not even relly looking for a high quality finish, its only relly a race car!

Sounds like a good plan, you lose nothing by it, and could gain.
