Given all the hassle we're having with snow up here today I'd happily roll in this to work. I can't find anything about it, hell it might not even be real but I know I want one.

How about a hotrod one with a blown 454? A Nash Metropolitan Anyone want to catch the snow bus? This looks like one of the unsafest things I've ever seen. I love it! The Bombardier Snow Bus. Tally-ho

I reckon the conversion has been done recently; the 'rolling stock' looks suspiciously like a skidoo's. Or it's dang good digital manipulation. I'd rather have this: EDIT: great minds think alike, useless inc... Or this, if it were real. Santa's real of course, kids. Anyone else for more of the same?

How about a Snow Cruiser a.k.a. The Penguin? "The original conception of the Snow Cruiser is most often credited to Dr. Thomas C. Poulter. Dr. Poulter served as second in command of Admiral Byrd's Antarctic Expedition II. During this expedition, Admiral Byrd nearly lost his life when he was isolated by the weather at the Advanced Base. It took three attempts for Dr. Poulter to rescue the Admiral due to the difficulty of traveling a mere 123 miles in the inhospitable conditions. This incident is believed to have been the spark that inspired Dr. Poulter to first visualize the Snow Cruiser." Turned out to be a bit rubbish "The Snow Cruiser failed to perform up to expectations. The tires sank deeply into the snow and spun too easily. In an attempt to improve the cruiser’s performance, the crew attached the two spare wheels and tires to the front front wheels, increasing the surface area of the tires by 50 percent. To improve traction, they installed chains on the smooth rear tires" Apparantly it's still out there.

Weirdly, just googling "snow vehicle" brings up a few image of previous posts, but in technicolor - I quite fancy this though - And would love a shot on that -

That's epic!!!
That first cut away drawing looks like something out of a childs penguin book, but they actually built the thing!?!
Shame it didn't work, kinda obvious in hindsight.
I want out for cursing round town on a sat night ;D

The Mini-Trac. Probably the only Mini ever to hit antarctica... Build in Australia and served in the Antarctica. It's not known if it's still there or has been brought back home...

Beetles were used almost unmodified in the Antarctic by the Australian Antarctic Expedition. Also the tracked vehicles in this photo have VW/Porsche Type IV engines in them.
