When i first start my engine the starter works fine but after running the engine for a bit it struggles to crank the engine as if it had a dead battery. Now it has a new battery and like i said it's fine when cold.
It feels simmilar to flat 4 vw engines when the starter bush goes. this has a similar setup so could it be that?
also the positive has a tiny nick in it, could that do it?

a possibility is heat soak. some vehicles need heat shields to protect the starter from engine/exhaust heat, also check your earth connections ttfn glenn

An electric rad fan can also slow down a starter if the engine's hot enough for it to be running.
