Morning all, long time and all that.... hope everyone has had a great Christmas. Thought I'd drop in and share my usual January 1st photo blast from the Phoenix Pub. As it was 3.5°C and the Campers oil was really low we decided to take the Passat (sorry to all the die-hard retro fans, but climate control and comfy ride have won me over these days) We slung the modern down a side road and aimed the pram up the A30, which was heaving with some amazing cars for a mile on both sides as well as down the middle of the dual carriageway and the carparks. Heres some highlights.... Black'n'Gold works for me Guess the powerplant Pair of Tinys Just the sort of craziness you expect a 1910s people carrier, possibly Renault Timewarp 1100 Something for the two wheeled fans Different! I wasn't too sure about this Capri, a rim change would probably swing it for me Insert "Fire up the Quattro" gags from the masses

C Type passing through This Dodge was huge, could have fitted the Passat in the boot I reckon! Work in progress, but sounded great Really nicely turned out MG Nice to see a Healey not in red or white View across the main carpark Four door fun of the Alfa flavour The dark and evil section!

So many neat touches on this Rod Two tone beige and brown worked on this Pop Variety is the spice of life There was a really nice brown Cortina strip inspired ride going up up and down the A30, there are no pictures as I was trying to get run over by a mate at the time! Winner of "biggest ride" This Diamond T was another massive ride 916 made a wondrous noise belting passed White walls and a bit of patina I have fond memories peeling and reapplying one of these to the side window of my dads Escort Popular in 1982 Orange is the new black

Its held at the Phoenix Pub on A30 in Hartley Wintney just outside Basingstoke ;D There were a few AM V8s trundling round, don't remember a blue one though. I said last year that I thought I'd get to a lot less shows and meets this year, thats three so far in 11 days, with another one this month already
