Right, I am swapping my 1600 for a CU engine, so my engine will be available soon.
I am away with work until the end of the month, but I am putting the gears in motion now.
The engine is missing the air filter assembly, and for some reason has a single vac dizzy (should be twin vac), but is otherwise complete to the very best of my knowledge and turn key. It has a 4 tip Monza exhaust with J tubes, so no heat exchangers sadly not that it matters to you 'orrible lot).
I don't know to much about the engine's history as I only recently bought the van and cannot confirm the mileage of the engine.
It runs well, pulls well, and to my knowledge has no problems. One of the pushrod seals leaks a little, but I shall do my best to put that right before the engine sells. You can convert these to upright cooling if you wish, the CT engine is essentially the same as a type 1 engine except it has full flow oil system with a filter, has hudraulic cam lifters and the oil cooler is in a slightly different position. To convert to upright, standard type 1 tinwear will fit except you will need to modify the doghouse slightly to fir the oil cooler in there, or run a remote oil cooler. Or you can just leave it with pancake cooling in a Baja. Would make a good upgrade for a Baja for the full flow oil alone!
The gearbox is the correct gearbox for this engine, however I need the cable clutch bellhouse to fit the the replacement gearbox. It will have a hydraulic bellhousing with it if you want it. Gearbox is good, no whines or noises.
For the engine, in light of the missing filter box and the fact that I cannot vouch for it's history, I am asking £500 ono.
For the gearbox, I am asking £200 ono.
The engine and gearbox will not be available until I remove it when I am back in Feb, provided the engine and gearbox I have sourced does not fall through. Give you lots of time to save / find the cash / get ready for the swap.
Engine can be heard running any time by appointment (I'll get a mate to meet you and "do the honours"), and once I remove it I will strap it to the gearbox if you like so that it can still be heard running.
Items are located in Northumberland, NE64.
I may be able to deliver, but I don't do kidneys or tripe.
