sinse the last couple of years my golf has been suitable for classic insurance , ive taken it out and they don't use no claims but offered to hold it for me
anyone else in the same boat ? can i just keep having it held year after year and then if i ever buy something thats not considered a classic use it on that as normal
just a bit concerned about loosing it all
also if i lay the cars up for a while whats the best way to keep the ncb alive ? would a moped/laid up insurance do it or whats best

I doubt a moped would hold the insurance as bike insurance and car insurance are generally different things altogether. If you had a car (even an old scrapper) which you just parked up and had insurance on that would probably hold it. Gives you a good excuse for a project

Yeah, I've been in that trap. No NCB because I'd been on a classic policy (and trade policy) for years.

Probs not the same across the board, but I'm classic only and named on the other half's Hilux. That does give me NCB but only with that company apparently... if she moved to some other co I'd lose it. Praps it's transferrable with other co's.

I thought you had four years before your NCB expired? Thats normally what it says on insurance websites, no claims bonus earned in the last 4 years. Could you not just start a policy after 4 years then when you get confirmation through about accpeting the policy with your NCB cancel it again?
