My Allegro is due back from the bodyshop any time soon and I have found myself short on space and money, so my Maestro auto has to go!
I recently acquired it as a project with a damaged engine and various other faults, the engine had burned out its valve seats and so the head was replaced with a gold seal reconditioned unleaded example and is now running sweetly. At the same time the exhaust downpipe was replaced and I am currently in the process of replacing the crank front seal, cambelt and sump seal. (crank seal and cambelt now done, sump seal has been inspected and is fine)
Inside various parts have been replaced to make everything nice, although the headlining is hanging down and ripped towards the rear, this could really do with replacing to make perfect.
Bodywise the filler pocket needs attention, along with the O'S'R arch, although this is solid with no jagged edges, its more unsightly than anything- it doesn't need replacing yet! There is a bit of corrosion to the boot floor where it meets the rear panel- easily accessible for welding, and the tailgate has a small hole under the rear screen. The drivers door lock has been attacked with a screwdriver and needs attention too.
It has had welded patches to the rear of the sills both sides for its MOT but apart from the above mentioned the rest of the car is amazingly rust free. Floorpans, sill flanges, front wings are completely solid.
This has been a great project and I hate the idea of having to move it on, but I have another Maestro in the garage that needs my attention, along with an Allegro on the way. Too many cars and too little time or money!
M.O.T September or October (I will have to check)
TAX- expired
£250 o.n.o, located in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
POSSIBLY INTERESTED IN SWAPS!
Since these pics have been taken the car has been mopped and polished and looks great!
(Hubcap removed to allow access to the wheel for cleaning)
Any interested parties please PM me on here...
