I've just treated myself to a little runabout to accompany my Mk1 3-litre Granada Ghia... It needs a damn good T-Cut, Turtle Wax and a decent second hand interior (bri-nylon cancer has claimed its life!!!) but on the whole this low mileage gem should look darn good after a couple of weekends hard graft... The Granada is still very much my main motor but petrol isn't getting any cheaper and I want to save that brutish old Blue Oval as much as I can...! The Triumph is only a 1300 (it is still quite nippy though!) so it should use less petrol and it's only done 30k miles so I don't mind bunging a few more on... The only thing I want to do to it is bung some tasty Dolly Sprint alloys on it, after that it'll be perfect I reckon... I hope you good people like the look of it...

Nice looking cars these! Are Toledos RWD or FWD... or were they either, depending on model?
As you say, bit of tidying and some alloys and it'll be lovely! I've always fancied a Tolly or a Dolly.

Nice original looking motor you've got there
I can't get out of my head some silly ideas for one of these that includes a Dolly twin light front end on a 2door Tolly shell with a Rover 620 turbo (T16?) lump up front !

Problem with the T16 lump is it is heavy. K series throwing out 200bhp would be better. One day......

That is cool. My dad bought a Toledo brand new in 1970, it was about nine hundred quid. ;D

The only thing I don't like about 'our' cars is the complete lack of any ground clearance, even at stock height. Would look immense with a few inches of lows, but then a pain in the rear to drive anywhere. Anywho, glad you're enjoying it!

Makes me wish I had my 1500 back, it's a shame, I imagine it was scrapped long ago

Always wondered. if its ever been done, but tje saab engine is based on the 1800? If so would a saab 900 turbo lump not fit in with a sprint box?
