Is it stupid that after 6 months or so out of vw's . Ive got this huge urge to build another bug? The boat will be done(ish) this year... And appart from building a smaller chrysler stacker replica outboard for it ill just be enjoying it... But id like to tow it with somthing a bit cooler than a mid 90's estate I havnt touched one appart from looking after my dads 70 for him For about 2 years ish. And I'm starting to realy miss them. I loved driving my old 71. It was quick. REALY REALY unReliable ;D But that was down to the "probuilt" 1641 it ended up with... ( yeah cos a pro leaves the bottom end shells out I'm thinking slammed baja... I realy like that black one thats been posted a few times. Ive done the ratlook thing when it was still newish to vw's , Done the slammed and clean thing. Even did ratrod with a vert i had briefly... But never baja.... Try convince me one way or another.... ;D P.s i can do heater channels and floorpans and any other bug related welding no problems... Can build beams and build an engine up from the case.. My influence

The first black one is awesome, stick an impreza engine in for good measure See i was acutually thinking along the lines of alt power. The original T1 bottom end can handle quite a bit. But costs alot to get it there. And more importantly hold the power reliably. Id like power that can be used. Not cost a huge amount to keep going and also be able to just leave it unused for a few weeks without the risk of a jet getting cloged up and not wanting to go

I've always had a massive hankering for a Baja. I dooooo like that black slammed one, but for me it'd have to be jacked up to the max with huge ass wheels/tyres and possibly a scoob lump out back

If I were to build a baja it would have to be VW powered all the way. No reason not too, and in too many circumstances fitting a skooby lump is a false ecomomy. However droping a Fastback shell on a Skooby chassis ... now yer talkin'!

Do it! A lowered Baja would win the prize!

Its been 6, maybe 7 long years since i last owned a bug - and i'm toying with the idea too, would be a long project, i fancy baja too, but a proper off road capable one...
either that or just another bug

But i cant see the ol swingaxle rear end being to clever at that lift while towing If ya get a little sway going with a trailer the one thing i like is a nice solid car to keep it all straight.... Wheels tucking under and swaying doesnt make me to happy haha...
