The old boy has these two old sheds to go to the scrapper; thought I'd post on the offchance that anyone needed any bits before they go.
The cars are:
Volvo 940 2.3 Turbo; Estate, K-Plate, Silver, 145k. Dead because of Knackered cylinder head Good bits: 7 Cloth seats, interior generally good.. everything OK except engine AFAIK.
Mazda 626; 2.0 16v, Saloon, T-Plate, Gold, 138k Dead because of knackered back brakes; body also fairly crusty - front doors and boot lid seem alright, as is interior. Good bits: Running gear is fine AFAIK.
Will probably be going down the yard in the next week (Mazda probably a bit longer as I'm waiting on the V5 to be returned) let me know if you need anything; no sensible offers refused
Big bits collection only, might be persuaded to post small bits if the price is right. Viewing / poking welcome during the week. Can do photos if there's any interest.
Cars are located in North Oxford; please PM if interested.
Thanks for looking.
Mike

After one of this cigarette lighter power points with the 12v lid instead of the lighter. Don't suppose you have one??

Hi. Has the 626 got a front splitter? If so, could you post a pic up for me to check it's the one I'm after?

The cigarette lighter/powerpoint things are on most modern cars

What is the turbo like on the Volvo, is there any play in the shaft? How much?
Cheers,
Stu.

Will take the splitter if you'd be happy to post it? Is it already in two halves? If not, I'd be happy for it to be cut in half to make postage easier.

No problem Will take the splitter if you'd be happy to post it? Is it already in two halves? If not, I'd be happy for it to be cut in half to make postage easier. I've just been over to have a look and it appears that that splitter is moulded into the bottom of the bumper, so can't be removed.. can we just clarify exactly which bit we're talking about - the bottom 2ish inches of the bumper with two meshed apertures..? If so, it appears to be the whole bumper or nowt. Afraid I can't be posting that

Is it really? I've been under the impression that you can remove it.

Regarding the Volvo: Is the exhaust/cat any good? I have a 2.5ltr 960 with a swiss cheese exhaust - does anyone know it these systems would be compatible?
Also what size wheels/tyres on the Volvo?
Cheers!

Have amended the original post as the cheeky fooker breaker came and got the Xsara today, so that's gone Also got the mileage of the Mazda and a few more details. Is it really? I've been under the impression that you can remove it. Yup.. it certainly looked that way to me too; however on closer inspection it all appears to be one piece. Can have the whole front bumper for a fiver if you want to come and collect it, but sorry I'm not prepared to try and post it. Regarding the Volvo: Is the exhaust/cat any good? The exhaust and cat are a bit ropey tbh; solid but covered in flaky surface rust.. might be a bit of a sod to get off in serviceable condition. Can get some pics if you're desparate, though Sorry, unsure about compatability as Volvos aren't really my bag.. Wheels are 15" fitted with 185/65 tyres; Ceat on the front and one Federal, one Viking on the back. Evenly worn, min. 4mm tread on the front and 5mm on the back. Two wheel trims are missing. If you want the wheels there'll be a bit of a wait I'm afraid as they're fairly useful for moving the car about EDIT: Tyres are 185/65 I think, not the 185/55 originally stated..

Hmm have heard of a few people using that splitter on other cars so am a bit confused now!
You're a bit far for me to come and pick it up unfortuately, but thanks anyway though!

Just been offered one from a breakers, so I know that at least some do come off. But he wants a pretty steep price for it so if you could find a way to get it off I'd really appreciate it! Obviously if it really is moulded to the bumper then no worries.

How odd.. only think I can think of is that some are separate and some are integral to the bumper. In one final effort to prove that I'm neither retarded nor too lazy to get the bits off, here are a couple of closeups - tis the driver's side rear corner of the bumper. The bits at the rear edge are bolted on, but the splitter is integral: And a 100% crop - notice there is a mould split line but it is all one piece:
