Hi folks,
Up for sale is this rather bright and straight Xantia 1.8 petrol. I bought it as a cheap runaround to get me by when my Landrover was stolen a couple of months ago. I have now bought a Discovery so this is surplus to requirements.
Good points
Low mileage (I have every MOT going back to 1999 to verify)
Excellent interior with no apparent wear on seats or carpet
Straight bodywork
Very quiet and smooth engine
Starts, drives, stops dead straight and has never given me any problems.
Previous owner told me a new battery and radiator had been fitted and they certainly look new.
Suspension goes up and down as it should when you play with the lever thing.
Nice Pioneer CD radio with aux input.
Doesn't seem to use any oil/water.
All electrics, windows/sunroof, all work.
Bad points
Rear suspension seems quite hard and choppy. I have absolutely no experience with this hydraulic suspension setup so have no idea what it could be. Drives OK though.
Drivers door mirror glass could do with replacing
Drivers front indicator lens outer plastic bit broken so could do with replacing although still works OK.
Various minor nicks and scrapes as you would expect from it's age.
Minor rusting on wheelarch lips and a little corrosion to bottom of FNS wing.
Paint is a bit flat in places but would probably mop up OK.....bear in mind, while it's a nice clean straight car, photos can be quite flattering!
All in all, a good, solid, reliable runaround with tax and ticket ready to drive away.
Just give me a shout if you need further pics/info but bear in mind it may take me a day or two to respond as I work shifts.
