there are stickers :
- in the owners manual in the glove box (if still there) - a white sticker in the boot; near the spare wheel well:
on these stickers you have engine/gearbox code, other codes and the paint code (it always starts with an L..); this is for example L90E (alpin white), have no clue about your paint code though..

don't think its calypso... I had a mk2 in that colour and it wasnt anything like that. Unless they changed the shade at some point obviously. Oh and VW can tell ya. Tell them the chassis number/ reg number and you can get a spec printout from your dealer.

Took on rust today. Frontal attack on one section of front wing, unearthed some more so attacked that as well...winning on that front, temporarily.
Then whilst investigating options for a pincer movement to attack the vulnerable bootlid grot, i discovered it had backup in deep cover around the numberplate recess waiting to surprise me. Retreated to regroup and fight another day.
Sorry, i think the smell of solvents has gone to my head...
