Can anyone tell me what socket or screw head i'll need to take off the drivers door on my mk5 Escort? It looks like a torque screw type thing, but i'll need the socket i guess. Or one of the star screw things? This part of the Job looks like its gonna be a pain. Heres a pic of the hinge i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll97/chrisofyellow/P1010371.jpgAnyone done this before?

Thats an E Torx, not sure of the size but what I do know is that a screwdriver with interchangable bits will work with the bit removed, use the bit receptical as a socket,or use a 1/4" socket alternatively. No need to go and buy new E TORX sockets just yet. Just undo a bit, no need to take them right out and lift the door, the hinge seperates leaving the pin on the door. They are really that simple. Just make sure the wiring loom and check strap are disconnected first.
