Hi all,
After some investigation work and with the help of Hoggie, I can confirm the misfire is as a result of what would appear to be a poor head gasket repair during the previous owners time with the car.
I have again conducted a compression test and the cylinders register an equal 180 cold across all 6. There is a receipt for the headmaster repair and the issue was a gasket blowing across cylinder 6.
The car is MoT'd, start first time everytime, never over heats, drive well except for the misfire/murmur (it really isn't like a missfire) and there is no rattles etc.
All the new parts are fitted and she just needs a BMW fan to spend some time on this rare E34 looking into the issue caused by the poor repair, I simply don't have the time or inclination and as I said above, I simply am not a BMW fan.
The car really is superb and would be a easy project to be a perfect genuine E34 535i sport which has not been ruined and only going up in value.

Hi all,
I have checked the engine compression on all cylinders and got a very surprising 180 across all 6 bores, the murmur is not a missing fire and clears when the revs rise. I have played about with recommissioning her but to honest I MoT'd it, replaced a load of parts but ended up buying an Alfa 164 from the same year and I am not a BMW fan, it looks amazing (hence why it has stayed with me) but BMW's are just not my thing, that's my brother department! Madness when you look at the condition!!!
The car really is unbelievable condition.
Hi Hogie,
I didn't get the car from that gentleman myself but that sounds like the chap and the description of a large garage on a hill matches the photos I have seen n the history. The guy had it for most of its life. I would be interested in any info you have? The car was obviously very well looked after.
Cheers

Hi all,
I have decided to sell my near showroom condition BMW E34 535i Sport, inline 6 with manual gearbox and black leather with m sport steering wheel and gear knob.
V5 confirms this is a genuine 535i sport with only 4 previous owners.
As you can see from the photos the car is in near showroom condition and is quite simply a time warp vehicle. The body is in superb condition, as is the interior and at it last MoT, the tester couldn't believe how good the car was for an restored, all original 1991 BMW!
The car is completely standard apart form the 17" wheels and the stereo head unit
Engine has a murmur at low revs/idle but starts on the button and has several new parts to begin its recommission.
Dizzy cap Rotor arm Fuel filter Sparks Battery 6 X new Bosch injectors New front brake flexi's
MOT until 20th March 2017
The car is currently on 197k miles but I can honestly say it looks like it has barely seen a road let alone that many miles. The car had the same owner almost all of it life and has been garaged/storage I would guess since new.
There is an A4 folder of history, all the original handbooks in there BMW wallet and service history stamped until 192550 miles!
These cars are very rare and are basically an M5 with a standard 3.5L engine and will be extremely collectable as the last of the real BMW's.
Only selling due to buying another Alfa 164 V6, a car that has a special place to me and hence the BMW is up for sale.
I could keep her garage and rising in value but that just isn't fair on such an amazing condition modern classic
Car is near Peterborough.

Hi all, Welcome to the sale of my extremely rare 1994 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 2 GSR which is confirmed by the chassis number CE9A - SNGF These cars were never UK supplied and all were imported, this one was first registered in the UK 01/01/2008 and comes with lots of original history from Japan, as well as UK history. Bodywork The bodywork is in great original condition with the only real issues being the front and rear bumper could do with a respray, slight patch of rust under one of the spoiler legs and very slight surface rust to the top of the screen. Unlike most of these cars, this one does not have a rotten roof or body and doesn't seem to have been involved in an accident, this car even has the original front bumper lip! Engine and transmission The engine is in great condition, pulls well and makes no untoward noises etc, gearbox selects all gears correctly, clutch engages with no slip and the diffs all seem to be working correctly. No oil leaks on the floor under the car when left standing and temperatures etc, are all correct. Full De Cat HKS exhaust system HKS Air filter kit HKS Digital Boost Controller (hidden in the front ashtray) 3 x Greddy gauges (boost, oil temp, oil pressure) fitted in place of the radio I have replaced the following less than a month ago - Full cam belt kit with all tensioners and aux belts New water pump Oil and filter Spark Plugs Complete New Genuine Top Engine Mount New coolant Suspension and wheels/tyres Full Tein Coilover suspension Front Strut Brace Rear Strut Brace Front underside brace Replacement rear 'genuine' dog bone arms and bushes (2 months old) New rear wheel bearings (2 months old) 16" OZ Racing Wheels fully refurbished a month ago in white 4 x Brand new Continental Conti Sport tyres less than 200 miles. The underside of the car is in fantastic condition and doesn't look like it has seen much of the UK roads. These cars are getting seriously rare and becoming collectors cars, even Quinton Wilson highlighted the early Evos as real future classics and this one is perfect for everyday use, summer use or with a little work would be a great show car. Only selling due to wanting a complete change of car. Any questions please ask and I could send a video of the engine running. £4000 ono ianmoynes@hotmail.co.uk Link to ebay listing www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261975053010?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649

Hi all, I am considering the sale of my excellent condition Evo 2. The car has a set of Evo 3 skirts and spoiler fitted and the front aux lights are Cibbies with high/low beam, period correct rally mud flaps fitted and 16" OZ alloys, these could do with a refurb due to the White slightly yellowing. For the asking price I have 4 brand new Continental Conti Sport tyres to include. The car is in great condition, especially for a 90's Japnesse car, the car was only imported to the UK in 2008 and seems it has spent most of its life in the dry. There is not rot anywhere underneath the shell and the only bit is a small patch on the boot lid under the spoiler foot, though this is only surface rust. Even the bottom of the doors are clean! I think this was a fully striped up rally replica show car whilst in Japan. The bumpers did have stickers on which have removed some of the lacquer but these are an easy remove and paint to finish the exterior. Suspension is fully Tein coil overs, with front and rear strut braces while underneath the car has brace bars fitted. I have replaced both the rear 'dog bone' control arms with genuine Mitsubishi item and have replaced both rear wheel bearings. The engine bay is in great condition, with no cut and shut pipes or wiring, the only actions are a HKS air filter, HKS full exhaust system, alloy radiator (famous JDM race brand) and a electronic HKS boost controller, the control unit is build into the ashtray to hide it from view. Starts on the button, very quiet and pulls cleanly, with the gearbox etc is perfect working order. The interior is in great condition with the only wear being the usual but only slight side bolster sagging, no rips, tears or worn patches, the rear seats look hardly used. I have removed the stereo unit and replaced it with a cargo panel containing 3 x Greddy gauges. MoT has 10 months left and no advisories Loads of history. There are only about 50 of these left on the DVLA and only 25 on the road, these are destined to rocket in value, they are even being mentioned in classic car mags and programs. I took it to the Brooklands breakfast club where it received a lot of attention. Only selling due to have 3 Alfas and work simply won't give me the time o use all of them! Find a performance car with this much power, handling and future asset value for this price! £4200 ono ianmoynes@hotmail.co.uk 07789 998277

Oh no!! What a tragic end to a great car. Don't see many white over grey ones with that rare sports interior.
I've now had a few including a 560, great retro cruisers.
They may suffer from a bit of tin worm but everyone forgets these are getting seriously old! They are going to be major classic status.

Hi zm2389
To be honest I think the car is in great condition for a 28 year old mercedes which hasnt been fully restored. It will have a few areas that may need abit of attention but find any of these 80's Mercedes which don't.
Mechanically the engine starts first time, everytime, no smoke, holds perfect temperature but does suffer from a misfire which I think is down to either the dizzy cap or advance of the dizzy. Gearbox selects all gears, the diff is working as it should, brakes are all good, steering is fine etc.
Hope that helps

Hi, yes the Merc is still for sale.
The first person to look got here and become interested in out Merc Cosworth project and ended up buying that lol.
There was a second young guy who came to look and seem to think a 28 year old car would be as new! Nice guys but I don't think they really know old specialist vehicles.
If you want a genuine, very rare Generation 1 SEC from a renown 80's tuning house then you are more than welcome to come and have a look.
There are about another 4 people asking lots of questions.
Cheers
