You'll need 2meter from boundry on each side to allow max size higher than 2.5m You cant exceed 50% of the total area of land around the original house. Sheds and all other outbuildings and extensions to the original house must be included when calculating this 50% limit. Anything larger than 20m2 needs building regs See below page for further info interactive.planningportal.co.uk/mini-guide/outbuildings/0

A bit different but trying to find a T5 gearbox for a V8 engine, fairly impossible for a realistic price over here.
The only T5s here are those from Sierra Cosworths OR TVRs. So your stuck with the Ford scene tax. And its not even correct as the input shaft is a different lenght.
T5 over here. £1300-1500 usually if you can even find them
Booked a holiday to Texas for a week to stay with a mate. Was able to buy one from facebook market place in Dallas for $400, was then able to buy a new flywheel, clutch, a nice aluinium short shifter, and various other spares/parts for another $400
So i was around $800 in (£650)
Was able to share space in a container and for another £200 shipped to 20 miles from my house in the UK. Then went and picked up my parts haul. £850 all in
My flight was £360 Pickup rental was £270
I got to see my mate, have a holiday all for the price of if i bought one off ebay. Excluding beer and other spending money of course
Ill prob buy a couple more next time I'm there. Sell one over here and pay for my holiday.

Nice i like the repurposing
Looks like its going to be smart once done.
I really need to make a trolley. But i have no more ground space. I have to heave my welder up onto racking shelfs and keep the bottle in the corner

I'm the middle house of 3 and the right side has obviously not been working during this pandemic, think hes a tradesman and she never worked plus some teenage kids in and out.
Theres 2 of us that have been forced to work from home. Ive been in and out when ive been able to go and visit my clients/had to go out in emergencys But for the most time, both working from home full time.
The neighbor often listens to loud music at weekends, its loud and not my taste at all. But its never usually too late and i just close a window or play the tv/music a little louder to combat it. Its their right, just as its mine to grind my welds down at the weekends
Now they have a 7 day weekend and the weather is nicer they have been playing loud music in the garden most of the day. Warm weather makes closing the windows impossible and also makes 2 peoples conference calls etc pretty unbareable for us and the other partys trying to listen to us over the bass!
I went round about 6 weeks ago and asked nicely if he could do us a favor and not play the music that loud during the 'working day' as the house is now basically our office from 9-5 and we didnt have a choice in the matter. He obliged and we have been able to continue meetings nice and quietly for the most part.
The neighbor to our left also said it was disturbing her working from home. So thanked me for asking.
In short, i asked a loud neighbour to be more considerate during working hours and he obliged. Its how you ask not what you ask. If this lady asked you nicely to please try and keep the volume down, i personaly would have been much more receptive and tried to work around her.

Intrestingly i just looked up the fact they must have to contact the DVLA for your details. They do, it costs £2.50 per lookup. And from what i can see is an automated process and if you are one of the " British Parking Association! or the "International Parking Community" they just hand it over without looking to see if the cause is credible. How could they with thousands of requests daily. And seemly, don't keep a record of who they sold your information to and at what time.
I'm wondering if this is how classic cars get stolen, find a car posted online just input a reg and for £2.50 get a registered address, leave it long enough (Maybe logs are kept for a short amount of time, or maybe not at all) then go a pickup your new classic car for free.
Got me wondering what the legal implications of registering a car at a bogus address/under an alia or under a trust or would be, and how that would be enforceable?
Becasue the DVLA are in effect selling your personal information. And you have no choice but to register the car with them. You can't not agree to the 'contract' by owning a vehicle?

Intresting, i send quite a parcels for Capri boot gas struts, which ive had made the correct length/strength/ends for the Capri for my clubs. And ive obviously never told them they contain 'gas' But always put it down as a car part.
Ive sent around 400 units from my local post office of the same thing they know its a car part now and i just nod as usual when they ask "More car parts" Last one i sent was last weekend and no problem 4 units
If they question it after changes. Ill change contents to "metal rod"

Assume i buy a house with a single garage besides the house, but no other access to the rear garden of approx 150ft long other than through the house. Other gardens on all 3 sides of the garden.
I'd like to knock the wall out of the rear end of the garage into the garden, so i can build another workshop/workshops in the large garden.
In effect a drivethrough garage with 2 up and over garage doors, then another driveway and workshop in the garden somewhere.
Would i need planning permission for this since its a considerable modfication? Likelyhood of getting this approved?
Also as far as building a garage on the land, if I'm reading things correctly i can build anything i like up to 30m2 internal floor space(2.5m high total if within 2m of boundry) or 2.5m eaves with 4m total height if more than 2m from any boundry.
But if i want to build larger than above building regulations apply but planning permission doesn't apply if i conform with the above height restrictions but i do not exceed half the properties land
So could theoretically build a 50m2 workshop/garage without planning permission as long as i get building regs signed off and it doesnt cover 50% of the garden?
Am i correct here?
This is all theoretical, as I'm still hunting for a property to buy on my own, and I'm struggling to find anything with access/garage space within my budget in my ridiculously priced area.

I bought one of those kitchen knives that cut through anything/don't blunt off a stall at Tesco. Had it about 10 years now and it's still sharp, and I used it to cut through the roof skin of a scrap car once lol. "Worlds sharpest knife?" I bought 2 about 10 years ago also One is in the kitchen for indented purposes, the other is on the workbench, for other uses. Both still sharp and work pretty well, its more a saw than a knife blade, but it works for pretty much anything i need a knife for. I bought one when the lad decided to saw through a hammer onstage in a Tesco, the misses at the time told me to buy 2. Jake

Any progress? I was inspired enough to go get another set of wheels and i started mocking up a lowrider version, similiar to your design lol No more intresting progress sorry! Trying to get the Capri done at the moment! If i get bored/frustrated over the weekend working on the car i have a couple ideas to test out on the steering side of things. Small update i did'nt think was worth a post, but here you go So i cut down the axle. Enough for a second project me thinks Not too shabby of a cut with an angle grinder slit disc and a quick once over with the grinding wheel if i do say so myself Did a little bit of experimenting with the drag handle. Piviot point on the bottom of the front bar and a piece of tube very lazily crushed with a bolt screwed into one end, then a long handle screwed on to the front to drag it. I'm going to weld a tab onto the bottom of the steering thread and bolt it to that. Should provide the steering to work pretty well for the drag along wagon idea. Other idea is to use another threaded rod with the steering mounted offset and tie into the one side of the steering arms Thoughts? Suggestions on how else to do it

Took a break with it Got the axle (About twice as long as i needed, as its for a gokart) Heres the front end Switched the bolts for smaller ones with a washer built in, so nice and flush with the base Installed the pillow blocks for axle And this is how it currently sits and is now a rolling chassis. With an extra 500mm of axle sticking out one side.

Ford Capri MK1 black vinyl rear bench seat & door cards £250 ono. Swap for some Capri mk3 parts, P100 parts, 5.0 Mustang EFI parts ( ) Good overall condition Took photos of the parts that could use a bit of glue or stitch before it gets too much worse Door cards are pretty mint, could do with ironing out some of the indents from storage Jake Hey, don't suppose you still have these? Just sold them last week. Took full payment for them and they are meant to be getting picked up once lockdown is lightened enough for him. Will keep you in mind if anything changes.

Cut out a couple pieces of metal and bent to shape to fit the stub axles Got the new bearings for the front wheels so was able to fit them and check heights for the front wheels. I guestimated the angle needed to correct the camber on the stub axles. Transfered to paper and roughly onto a piece of bar. Cut freehand with angle grinder. Came out pretty good! Piece of angle to measure and adjust. Welded it all up, forgot to make pictures inbetween but this is how it looks now. I need to grind down the corners rounded so they don't slice me open! Also threw some spanners on the front as a bit of decoration and a little bit of bracing support to the stub axle carriers Bit over exposes to see them properly on this photo. Bolt in the front goes through the cross brace and i welded a nut onto the back. And here is where we are. Need to make some bracing for the bottom of the stub axle carriers to help support heavy loads, prob just some triangle braces from bottom of the chassis rails I might add another brace to the top. Maybe all the way across if i can find an old tool or something to fill the gap that will look cool, or maybe just some more plate. And ill prob change the carriage bolts in the stubs for proper king pins so they move on the bearings properly.

Those wheels and tyres are awesome. I love that the back ones look wider than they are tall. I think I see a set of those on my lads Buddy L firetruck in the near future! Gokart wheels/tyres! Lots of super wide options avaliable. ------------- Heres a a couple updates ------------- The plan is to be able to carry heavy car parts in it. And/or crates of beer. I want it to be strong enough to potentially carry people around as well. I started on the chassis today. The outside chassis rails are 1250mm long. 40x20mm 1.5mm wall. So should be fairly strong. Bolted to the tray in 4 places. 2 original holes (Slightly enlargened) and 2 new ones. Then the cross braces will have another 2 bolts in each in original holes to support the weight of the luggage. So will have 8 m8 bolts (Rivnutted) to hold it to the chassis. I've just ordered a bunch of parts including a second pair of bearings for the rear axle because the first pair i bought were 25mm pillow blocks and the axle is 25.6mm (1 inch thick) my bad. And i have some other bits already delivered ready to go. The outside chassis rails are already drilled, rivnutted and attached. The centre cross braces are to be welded, drilled and rivnutted. But this isnt done yet ----------- Finished the main chassis. I have stood on the chassis, the cross braces upwards, down, and vertical. Took my considerable weight without bending or cracking welds. So I'm happy its plenty strong enough. Welded Inside Banging chassis Waiting for some parts but ive started to put the front end together. Due to the front axle stubs ive got for a gokart they have some built in camber, which i need to basically remove with my bracketry which sucks. Because this wagon isnt going to have any suspension the front wheels need to be flat! But tricky to get the dimensions right without the new bearings for the front wheels and the bearings for the rear axle and the hubs for rear to work out the heights. But i got the front axle stub mount and the front mount crossmember cut out and I'm pretty sure the angle is correct to straighten out the camber issue, no gonna weld it up until i get all the parts delivered I also did some welding and painting on the 2.8 today and tidied up the garage and installed a third racking unit, and then ordered 2 more units. Will have 5 racking units in my single garage! Getting tight in here, but i have alot of parts, tools and odd bits! And then the second storage garage round the corner! So working on 3 projects at the same time. Go me! Jake
