Tempted to, but I'm planning to use the Granada hubs and they use the larger diametre hubs like 4wd Sierras which means it's not that easy. Good point. Would mk4 Golf ones fit the Granny hubs? They're a few mm bigger aren't they? Or are you being less traveller and getting proper ones? qwerty inspired! From a quick internet search mk4 golfs appear to be 50mm diameter strut body, which pretty much spot on for the Granada 2wd or Sierra 4wd hubs. Going to have to do some checking at work tomorrow.

Personally, I'd lose the splitter, it's got too much 'front' whilst still having high sills and rear bumper. Yeah i'd agree with Dan. No splitter, more lowering. either that or it needs skirts. be different and make up some jutty-out J style box steel ones? This is why I've been looking for some matching RS option side skirts which are in the pipeline thanks to SparksECM who's sadly breaking his Sierra. As for the rear, I don't like the RS option rear bumper extension, plus I've got a plan for the rear. Nothing of how the car looks now is how I want it to, the whole thing is a complete work in progress. When are the focus coilovers being fitted? Tempted to, but I'm planning to use the Granada hubs and they use the larger diametre hubs like 4wd Sierras which means it's not that easy.

Firstly the Sierra scrapped through the MOT yay! Had to do a hasty patch of welding on the sill, which I plan to redo once the weather gets better and I can weld it, seal it and paint it without it getting wet immediately. But other than that it wasn't too bad. Anyway on to other business the standard MT75 gear stick has always been a dislike of mine, the knob is foam and is almost always loose, the stick isn't threaded so changing the knob is awkward and the leather gator is usually ruined (the type-9 sufferers from non of these problems). Luckily I had a spare slightly broken MT75 stick to mess around with, I cut it in half and welded a stud into it to give something to attach a proper gear knob to... Annoying I'll loose the lift-up reverse, so I'll have to be slightly careful not to go from 5th to reverse lol!!! This is mk1 gear stick, as I plan to use the stick on my car at the moment to make a mk2 version with a threaded top that retains the lift up reverse. Next step is to make some ridiculous gear knob Had some 'exciting' management training in Tavistock today, at least it was an excuse to have a blast across the moors with the fuel paid for by work. With such a stunning backdrop it seemed a shame not to take some photos...

Awesome thread revival, always fancied a 75 but they either came for sale at the wrong time or seemed to be hard to find. Loving your build, stunning attention to detail!

mk22door your advice is always appreciated! Awesome! Ofcourse you have to shove the scorpio axles under it! I own a 3 door shell with scorpio 4wd axles under it, the whole alu front subframe and all, straight up bolt on. You could probably get some 5x114.3's on those hubs as well, giving you a huge array of wheels to chose from. There is plenty of options for engines, but a 24v is a very sensible choice as i guess this is a daily driver? Still plenty of grunt for hooning too Yep daily drive, so it's got to be fairly sensible. Yeah fancy getting hold of a 5x114.3 wheel to see if wobble nuts would make them fit. Love those wheels, got a set in 15", never knew there were 16's too. They look perfect on that Any ideas what they are? Oooooooooooooookay then! Firstly the timing chain has been rattling on start up since I bought it, however in the last week the rattle has become a seriously loud clatter for the first 5 seconds followed by another 5 seconds of slightly quieter rattle. So in the interest of longevity I got hold of a chain kit through work, a print out from Autodata and a couple of friends for moral, and got on with it! Still working out how to get the friggin chain off! Autodata about as much us as a condom machine in a nunnery. New chain, tensioner and hydraulic unit on Oil pump chain on Unsurprisingly the rather feeble 'clip in' top chain guide had gone brittle and the little lugs snapped off as I tried to remove it (I had been warned this would happen) This was fix/bodged by drilling a hole in it and putting a bolt through it! At the time it was a pain in the bottom, but in retrospect it wasn't that bad and I'd quite happily do it again, although I'd change the guides as well. Anyway it's now nice and quiet, well as quiet as a twinky can be. Annoyingly the fragile and possibly original distributor cap has given up the ghost and the bloddy thing has started to misfire under load so, I'll be replacing the cap, arm, leads and plugs as they all look pretty shonky. In other news I got some 195/45R16s put on the wheels... ...and attached them to the car... Just need to sort out some badges for the centre caps.

My last Sierra a few days before the accident That looks stunning Robinxr4i, gutted about the accident. It's the first car I've seen that's made me want to keep the stock bonnet. I'm in the process of tarting up my black xr4x4, and that's got me thinking about dropping it a bit. What suspension did you use? Cheers That one was on Gaz coilovers, which I'd recommend I've had two sets of Gaz coilovers on two different Sierras. Ride quality is excellent as is the handling.

Love these thing so ugly and cute and ugly, only ever seen 2 or 3 on UK roads I don't think they were available in RHD. Anyway loads of potential, just needs some wheels and lows.

In the UK we got DOHC 2WD XR4i and 4WD XR4x4, but only in 5 door form they were only made for a couple of years at most. The Germans and possibly other LHD countries also got 3 door versions too. This one ended up in the UK.... In terms of spec they all seemed to have the facelift dash and rear discs, but most DOHC got these anyway (except the DOHC GT which got rear drums) but in terms of unique features they weren't that different other than the badges. I have heard that the 4WD ones allegedly came with a 3.92 LSD, although this might be rubbish. A mate of mine had a DOHC XR4x4 was okay, but IMO the twink was a little underpowered for the extra transmission. Much better off with a 2WD one! In fact this was his one...

Loving that, always had a soft spot for big Toyotas (probably due to watching too many Japanese drift videos on youtube) the dash and interior are sublime. Hope you get the bumper sorted, are they easily available from Japan if that one isn't saveable?

Sweet! Like where this is going! Is the 5x112 a easy swap? Just put the Scorpio hubs on? Love to put the Cosworth alloys on mine Sierra, looking forward to see the wheels that you bought on yours, they look cool! Kinda doing the opposite with mine, just working instead of buying fun bits (almost done with headgasket and cooling system) I'm reliably informed that the whole rear beam should just bolt on and the front should do the same too, just with wider track and all the other stuff I've mentioned. Apart from limiting wheel fitment due to offset it all seems like a win win situation. Great updates, but what on earth is going on with the scorpio side repeater?!?! Had many happy driven miles in my Dads Fords, he went from a 2.0is sierra to a a Granada 2.9 4x4 ghia x, he did use to love his Fords. The Granada has had some "interesting repairs" done to it, most of the bodywork is curse word bumpers are held on with self tappers, bit have been rattle canned in completely the wrong green and the indicators look like they've been stolen off a truck. It's all a bit odd! I've got those same wheels! They're Merc fitment. Yeah the wheels are 5x112, but I'm pretty sure they are Granada fitment

Where to start, well I thought I'd freshen up the three spokes with some paint. Which I did... Tatty white Prep'd WOW ultra conservative silver! Wanted the wheels to standout rather than the colour. They need some centre badges and some tyres, but unfortunately or fortunately something else has got in the way..... I got offered a very cheap Granada Cosworth, the rest as they say is history. Boom! I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do with it. I suppose the ideal situation would be to fit the engine (with a manual MT75 2wd/V6 Hybrid) and swap the running gear too. Engine benefits... 200-odd BHP with (hopefully) reliability Axle swap benefits.... 5 stud (5x112 offers IMO better opportunity for cool wheels) Increased track front and rear Increased front camber (although could be a bad too haha) Better brakes front and rear (bigger calipers and larger disc diameter) Thicker front ARB Adds rear ARB Oh and then I bought a S14 ducktail spoiler, because it looked like it would probably fit..... which it kinda does ANDDDDD I bought some more wheels, 5x112 ones this time. In my defence they were poorly listed and cheapish, plus they look awesome. Anyway I need to actually need to start working on the car rather than just buying stuff!
