Was it an unrecorded one then?
I've had a few in the past where the insurers don't put it through.
Otherwise the logbook must be returned to DVLA, as they re-issue them with 'previously written off' or similar in the notes section.

You need to reapply for a logbook after a write off, that's why it's absent.

It is the replacement for Cat D.
But I can't find anything which states what I have to do, to put it on the road again.

I'm a bit out of the loop, what's the deal now?
Looking at a car to buy, and it's cat N, no logbook.
Does it need any DVLA checks, re-MoT, or just reapply for logbook?

I took very few photos, it was a great show, but most of the ones which turned my head I saw last year.
That said, if Photobucket was still good I probably would have taken loads of photos...

Not had much time to work on things, been flat out with work, and bought a new van (that's in another thread).
I'll update a few bits when I get a chance. But for now, that Westwood Gazelle 11HP, there is no flap on the back for running a powered sweeper...
Does anyone know if the belt attaches elsewhere, or did only some models have that feature?

Fuel economy doesn't seem much different. I think the bigger wheels have allowed for lower-rev cruising, but the tyres of choice have more of a rolling resistance. So I think it vaguely evens it out.
As far as noise goes, I didn't notice a difference. But that probably because it's a rattley old van, that creates loads of wind noise due to poor aerodynamics, and of course I'm sitting on top of a 2.4 turbo diesel engine!

It's very, very low geared. So the bigger wheels have actually helped with cruising speed. Still seems to pull like a train in all gears. Only issues are the Speedo being out, and the front wheels catch the arches sometimes.

we (the astra-mk2 owners club) were there in full swing great weather. I was next door, parked at the back of the Mk3 stand, in the green Midi van, came up with the guy in the Land Rover.

Fair point.
I've had a quick look on the VBOA site, and to apply to be an affiliated club, the club must 'cater for Vauxhall/Bedford' doesn't say it can't cater for other makes too...

Anyone else go to the VBOA Rally in Market Harborough?
I was there in the Midi, although it was semi-hidden at the back of the Astra Mk3OC stand.
A friend did suggest something to me though, how about a Retro Rides stand next year?
It would be Vauxhall/Bedford/Opel vehicles only, but surely we have enough here to make a stand?

If it splits, there could be an oil leak of up to 1000ltrs.
This could contaminate tonnes and tonnes of soil. The clean up costs alone would be in the thousands, if not tens of thousands...
Personally I'd go for a bunded tank.

You never know what to expect though, you always get pub talk of someone's friend's brother's uncle's dog running a 1/4 mile in a completely stock car getting heavily tuned times. You never know until you try yourself.
At least you have real figures now!

Some good camera angles there, and there really is a lot of strip after the strip!
Happy with the times?
