Yes indeed, the Rev is still going. I've sent it away for a holiday and despite it allegedly breaking down (once) it's actually fine. I've not really got the time or inclination for cars or much else currently as life has got in the way. Hope everyone is well. I had most of last year the same. Life stuff became the priority and only since last week have I started messing with cars again.

Yeah it’s the same one. I finished all the mechanical work and sold it. He painted it and now it’s up for £9000!

This car is now potentially for sale. Don’t really want to do it, but it really needs to go. Will put a proper advert up later.

Excited to see the progress, especially wheels and tyres as that means it will be on the road soon! Looks great.

Wow i havent updated this for a while. Been busy with other cars. To recap, i finally worked out how to get the rad fans, intercooler, radiator and all squeezed in behind the front bumper. Then i started buttoning up the main systems like fuel and brakes. All the intercooler alloy pipes have beaded ends and are secured with mikalor type clips rather than jubilee clips. I made these mole grips so i could crimp a bead in the intercooler pipes. Its a piece of bar welded onto one jaw, and a groove ground in the other jaw. Looks like a grumpy Alien!!! The fuel tank was in perfect condition. It was repainted in epoxy, as were the mounting straps. I checked that the pump worked and then lifted it all up under the back of the car. While i was doing that i repaired and then repainted the rear brake lines and made sure the handbrakes cables were nice and free. The fuel lines and brake lines run under the car together, supported on plastic clips and little metal bars. Some clips had broken and the straps had rusted so i ordered some new ones. Ive also ordered and fitted a full set of HEL braided flexy brake lines, in a rather fetching shade of blue. Hard to see what yr looking at here, but basically i had to buy all new tank holder bracket bolt thingys. They fit in slots in the floor pan and the straps bolt up to them. Quite neat really.

Great stuff. Really is a looker. What kind of heater knob do you need? I might have a spare one, but i cant remember if mine is for a bubble 200 or an r8?

What did you use to clean the engine bay? Was it snow foam and a power wash or hours of labourious cleaning? Believe it or not James I didn't clean the engine bay! Looks like the previous owner kept on top of it so it's only got surface dirt on it. No oil leaks too with is a bonus. I'm yet to clean the bay so I'll post when I get round to it as I'm sure you can relate, work is getting in the way :/ Wow that’s unbelievable!

Nice car. I really like the colour combination, even the half leather. Hopefully that seam can be re-stitched.

I’ve had a couple of cylinder heads for rover v8 prepared by Turner Engineering. Richard there fits a restrictor in the oil channel up to the rocker gear to reduce flow to the rocker gear and maintain pressure lower down.

Brilliant stuff, really rare cars and one of the best factory sleepers ever I reckon, 200hp, 150mph in a 4 door Rover saloon. Yeah its nuts when you think about what else was on the road back then. These were rockets by comparison. Faster than standard cosworths of the time i think?
