We must be of an age, well, maybe within 10 or so years :-) Postscript - Just checked and we are of an age :-)[/quote] I'm sure we are as I like Emma Peel and Elans! I was drag racing from 1973 to 1993 so am sure we must have been at some of the same meetings. Here is a pic of my V8 Sprite with 5th wheel at Avon Park in 1987.

Those tyre temp monitors look very useful and you will be getting so much data from every run. That is a long way from my first attempts at data logging with a 4 channel VELA device and a BBC B computer back in 1986/7!

The Split screen in the early Morris 1000 is a pain to fit - even the guys at the Morris Minor Centre down in Kent say it is a swine. it took a team of Four to get ours in!!

Naa, that's not very realistic- think you need to get some of that "instant rust" paint on them now... We have thought of that - but decided to just give it some time out in the rain at Swithland Sidings! We also considered puting a load of pallets into the empty trucks and putting a layer of coal on the top for that "loaded" look....but then thought of the fire risk...

Nice 107E - My first car was a 998cc 107E and my first car mod was to put an oil gauge on it.....the copper tube transmitted engine noise into the cabin and the very small needle movement confirmed that the engine oil light coming on was correct - the engine was knackered! Still a rebuilt spare engine with a GT camshaft and ported head made it go better. A home made tubular exhaust system made it sound better. The vacuum wipers were a nightmare and somebody ran into the rear wheel arch. I then sold it to buy my first Frogeye Sprite.

I've not done any more work on the Quorn wagons as we have been doing some major body repairs in the Rothley shed to another Windcutter wagon.

Back in the garage and after a lot of searching I found a suitable piece of steel tube to replace the trial rubber tube on the throttle linkage. I fired up the welder and got the two threaded sections in place at each end. Repeat for the other side. I also removed and realigned the operating arm from the Drivers side carb to get the ball end more in line with the throttle quadrant. Now all the carbs open reasonably well together.

Well it is three months later and I've done ......nothing. I could blame the hot weather but in reality I have been more involved in railway stuff on the Great Central and buying another car to trundle around in. However I did fire the B up today, just on a whim and so I might get a bit done tomorrow.....

Well done George for getting the students on side - Shame about Jey-Anne, but there is a limit to what any caring adult/parent can do as they grow older.

I can remember my father having a Vauxhall with chromed "scallops" in the bonnet as he was a company "rep". He left the company and had to get his own car - a SH Alvis "Grey Lady".....I hated it as it had a "Rag Roof" and never wanted to ride in it. My second car was a Frog Eye Sprite (still have it), later on an MX5 (still got it), and four weeks ago I picked up an SLK 350....with the folding roof!

I then bought a 1.7 16 valve fuel injected Alfa engine to put in another Old Sprint...but that was sold unfinished due to a house move
