Those steels look cool. My other idea was to have some steels in gloss black but I figured the daisies would be best weight wise and I already have two sets true dat! every time I look at other wheels the daisies seem the best option and the consensus is that it handles good with slim '14's, keep them. P.S. clear out the cars drain holes if you haven't already done it.

It was my OH that bought it from that ad and I bought it off him. The brace went as it restricted seat movement and the spoiler went just cause I wasn't too keen and I decided I wanted an FTO spoiler, did a swap with my mates MX5 with £20 my way for that spoiler lol (if he ever get's rid I'll give you a shout) I have a friend with a soldering iron so I'll get that borrowed, thanks for the tip ChasR, why are you put off? is it because there are so many of them? The Jag belongs to my OH's brother it did have a XJR supercharged engine in it a few months back! You can find the thread for it Here.Nice one, I think its a YSCC spoiler with cut out for the light, its very rare indeed. I was considering cheap wheel options and the one on your car are the best interms of weight and tyres are cheap but 185.60.R14 the early mk2 Golf gti steel rims are cheap and give it a 'little b-astard' vibe.

Saw this for sale up on eBay a few months back and it had braces fitted and a hard to source rear spoiler; Looks like someone gave it some loving and a few mods! It was brought by a classic car spares and I was desperate for that spolier for my budget project seems like its gone to another silver motor!

The gsi never had leather only the turbo, as yours is the hatch if you want leather only option is the diplomat seats. Sri seats are your best choice.
Redtop and keep it as it is. ;D

Its a basic thing but thought I just post it here, after the ball joints and steering wheel change, I needed tracking so found a offer from national center that have a 50% off tracking, they had a proper set up and after struggling to get the car on their ramp it was done. Bruce and delroy at the Greenwich branch was top bananas and got it all for £15 (in keeping with the budget motoring for this whip) they never tried to up sell and just gave me some time under the car. The car seem nicer to drive with no steering corrections needed and seem a lot easier to dart through traffic.

Hi all, for the last couple of weeks I have been flushing the coolant from the car. The radiator has been changed not long ago but it is a aftermarket unit. The fluid was rusty brown for the first three flushes and then slowly cleared. I have no temp issues but I change the radiator cap for a 0.9 bar QH one as the old one rubber rings had seen better days. I removed the radiator overflow tank and screen washer bottles and bleached it they were so gunky this is what I got out: I flushed the heater core both ways but heat is still mild however super hot with aircon button pressed After another three flushes the water is clear and then I must confess, I have heard that vintage cars peeps dropped Vinegar as it is acidic, I didn't want to go OTT so I just put 600ml in (normally around 6l capacity) I have been driving it for a few days now and have got some distilled rain water and a 3l of concentrated antifreeze from 99p shop for under £5 so will have a 50/50 mix. :)I was lucky to spot a free cabin brace bar on MX5OC and also got a free hood which was passed it but its hood clamps where fine and rubbers, so striped it, Thank you Matt (M477Y) from MX50C. Our car is a 1990 1.6 and the later 1.8 had extra bracing, the early 1600 didn't have captive nuts present for the cabin brace but did have holes in the right place, I thought I would have to do a bit of filing but my bolts fitted with ease, I did have to remove the trim and seat belt unit for access and trimmed off excess of the bolt and cut the trim to fit around. I just need to spray the gold nut on top of seat belt tower as I am missing one cover. I didn't expect much difference but soon as I drove it was surprised how much less it rattles and the back end feel more solid, doing the ball joints has helped the front but will source front chassis brace and might leave the strut braces unless I get them cheap or even free!

Yummy, love the leather and that all important egg crate grill. This 740 must be when they tried the 760 front end on a 740 which later became the 940 as it looks almost identical to mine. Saw a few post on VOC, I thought you brought that 'F' plate minter. Turbo brick power!

Just read from the start. Excellent car, build and progress. Would love a project like this. Fank you vewi mooch these are going far too cheap, there was another thread here with a bloke with loads of skill he got a uk spec for £250 so cheap as chips, besides loving how it drives never had a car that's like being in a mini club, I have been flashed by fellow drivers of MK1's and IMHO every man should drive a car with pop up lights
