Exactly, it is literally the only Audi 50 currently on the road in the UK and the only one that has ever been offered for sale in the UK.
Needs to be sold soon so am open to offers, if someone pays my asking price I will deliver to anywhere in the UK for free, just thinking people might be worried about getting it back home on the French plates.
These sell for 5000 Euros + in Germany, someone needs to have it surely?

Well in that case then it's a true bargain!
Anyone fancy having the coolest car at VW shows this summer?

Thanks guys, you are right I am not exactly going to retire off of it!
Surprising Skoda, I think it may be worth you reading the first bit of the post again.
I wrote that when I was unsure about it's authenticity, now it has been proved to be a 50 the price has justifiably been raised.

Yeah, I'm not a little old lady that's had it in her shed for the last 30 years ;-)
I can see where you're coming from, but I'll take an offer on it.
People are trying to make money left right and centre on here without admitting it so at least people know the score this time.
The market for these is quite small and it's gonna take someone a very long time to find another one, then you have to risk your cash either buying it blind (as I did) or paying to go out to Europe somewhere to have a look.
I don't think it's an unreasonable price when you consider the risk I took and the effort you would have to put in to find another one in this condition.
Too late now anyway, the truth is out. I guess the question is, can anyone handle it?

As it say from July '76 they are the same so there is no way to tell.
I have the logbook and it was made on 28th Dec '76....

Thanks man. I wish I could explain to you how many people have put forward suggestions as to how you can tell the difference between the two!
Just heard back from Audi asking for the details so hopefully they will let me know soon.

I thought you were moving to Canada, Adam? Just got this from France, totally solid just needs some carb work as its runnign like a dog. To give you a bit more info '76 Audi 50 LS 96000 km Never been welded, original sills, floors and body parts. Interior is immaculate. Under the bonnet is very good as is the inside of the boot. Few scabs and scratches etc, will get the minor bits of rust sorted but the rest of it just characterful! It's missing a few bits of trim and the bumper caps for the front, any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I know how rare these items are. Also I need a replacement for the left rear light cluster if anyone has one I could buy? A few pics plus.google.com/photos/109174414448382075124/albums/6076774969807401249?authkey=CN3g5qXQx_K1kgEIt's going to the garage on Monday to get the carb sorted (if it's fixable) and to get it serviced and MOT'd so hopefully should be properly on the road within the next few weeks. Does anyone have advice on replacing the carb with a Webber unit? It's either a Pierburg or a Solex on there at the moment, I think it's a Pierburg. I had a Mk1 Polo ages ago and the carb was always annoying so would ideally like to put a Webber on there but as I understand it the carbs and the conversion kits are quite hard to come by, is that right? Also what would you expect to pay someone to swap it over? Cheers Adam Jeez, nice profile name. Not sure who you are but I am going to Canada, leaving end of April next year. Do we know each other?

Thanks so much for that link, how good is that? I had no idea you could buy proper VAG parts for these.
I am gonna get the RAC out today re the carb, I am hoping it may just need someone with a bit more knowledge than myself to have a look at it.
It's always nice when your car is deemed important enough to be put into a glass box!
I might get one for outside my house...

Would part ex for late 70's VW (Golf, Passat, Scirocco etc) Volvo for sale in excellent condition. Just had all new brakes, fuel pump, stainless steel exhaust and full service including plugs and points. Drives without fault, grear box and engine are very strong. 106k with some service history (mileage reads 6k and I have a few old MOT's to back this up going back to 1980 but I think it is more likely to be 106k) Interior very good, drivers seat needs some stitching repaired, no rips. Has a cheap aftermarket sunroof. No rot, bodywork is pretty good although there has been some previous repairs, very presentable though. The car just went through it's MOT and has 12 months tax. I will take some more pictures with a decent camera tomorrow. Please phone with any questions you may have and come to have a look at the car! I have had a lot of interest so far, a failed attempt on an eBay auction due to the winner not being able to pay but only one viewing, it's a really nice car and very cheap compared to what others are being offered at on this site. Hi, P1800 for sale in great condition, full MOT and has just had nearly £2000 spent on it. Full engine service including new points and plugs, not just an oil change. All new calipers pads and some of the rear brake lines. Also just had a new fuel pump. No advisories on the MOT apart from a fuel leak which has now been sorted, it went through yesterday so you would have a full year. The car is totally rust free and has only ever had one bit of welding to the sill which was done last week, it was done to a high standard. There cars rust like anything so this one is a rare find. Mileage says 6000 which I am not gonna say is true, however I do have MOT's going from 1980 to 1991 when the car was taken off the road until this year so it is feasible. looking at the car I would guess not, but you never know, it is remarkably solid. The paint looks fantastic and it has just been professionally buffed up, and the wheel refurbished, it really does looks great driving down the street and up close. The interior is beige leather and it in very good condition, no rips but the seam has split on the drivers seat, I will be getting this professionally fixed at some point over the next couple of weeks. Drives very well with working overdrive, always starts up in the morning and doesn't have any issue selecting gears, steering feels good for such an old car. Any questions please give me a bell, I am looking for a quick cash sale otherwise I will take it to a classic car auction in the spring. Cheers Adam

Hi,
Will ad some pictures later on once I have had a chance to give the car a clean and polish.
Very good condition e21 for sale, totally original with no modifications at all and the original BMW alloy wheels.
Interior in excellent condition, some slight wear to drivers seat but absolutely no rips.
The car drives spot on, gear box, clutch and engine are perfect, it is a total pleasure.
Car has covered 99k.
No rust on the body at all (a few dings here and there but they are very minor) has had a little bit of paint but has been done to a high standard and looks good, wheels could do with a refurb if you are fussy.
Car has never been in an accident, all original BMW glass and panels, original radio which still works.
I only got the car a while ago, did a few bits on it that needed doing and was planning to keep it but have now been tempted with an old Mini that is a bit of a bargain.
This car is totally solid and is easily the best driving classic car I have ever owned, add to that it is basically mint and you have a brilliant classic to enjoy which will only ever go up in value.
Just looking to get back what it has cost me and am open to offers but no swaps.
10 months MOT and 4 months tax.
Test Drive welcome and viewing advised.
Cheers
