This post about this F250 Camper Special with a Coyote swap was almost forgotten! It was placed on hold because of back ordered parts. Well- I didn't forget about it and when the parts arrived- I started working on this thing again! Here's the video update on the F250 Build:

It is not sold yet. But I have a feeling it's not going to be around long after it's done! I'm going out to actually build in the garage today- there are several projects in line now. It's not a horrible thing!

This Studebaker build is going to have to wait a minute. It's 6:15am and my buddy and I are about to travel 20 hours round trip to go pick up some other pile of American junk. 10hr drive each way but this thing- It was talkin' to me all the way across the Blue ridge mountains. More on that in another thread. Oh boy... here we go- my but hurts already lol

He bought it from an old Fire Department parade fleet. It was originally white, but the fire dept had it all painted red and gold. They are like a golf cart around here! We have some UTV's and "side by side" off road carts that are more aggressive and faster, but the little moke is a nifty beach buggy for the UK. A fun little thing on either side.

UPDATE ON THE METRO! We visited her today! The new owners had a bit of an issue with check engine lights, flashing lightning bolts and other alarming noises barking at them. I dealt with some of it on the phone, but the guy isn't really a skilled auto mechanic. So- I told him, I'd load up my buddy's van and make the two hour drive to solve the problem for him. They hadn't driven it much and it gave them a problem pretty quick. Technically- vehicles are sold in what's called an "as is" condition. I had nothing forcing me to handle the issue. I could have said "Yeah, sorry, check this and check that- See Ya". But that's not how I am. I apologized that they had any trouble, I'd get there as soon as I could (Sunday) and my girl and I drove down. While we were there, of course they brought out gourmet pastries. Nom Nom... lol We talked about all kinds of stuff as I started the van, cleared the codes and brought it up to temp. The short version is; I gave them a blank key along with the ignition key. This blank came along with the Durango when I bought it. I thought nothing of it and passed it along. They had it cut. Unknowingly, it was a chip key. The Durango- It didn't like this key. At all. hahaha Once back on the road, we drove it around quite a bit, and everything is SWEET. That's a good truck for them. It'll do well. While we were saying our goodbyes- guess what drove past? The little guy spun around and now you can add about 45 minutes of gob slappin' jabber jawin' to this story while we discussed HIS little gem of a thing:

When Studebaker designed the Pick Up they knew that they couldn't compete with Ford and Chevy so took a different path, styling the truck rather than making it utilitarian. The cab was set low on the chassis and the bonnet/hood was long making it look as if the cab was in the middle of the chassis. It was marketed as an 'Up Market' pick up, a Denali for the 50's if you like. So, with that very brief history lesson, why not enhance what the truck was originally? Your usual Hemi build will work really well with this, add all the creature comforts but splash out on a nice interior and good shoes. Leave the paint as it is, but really go the extra mile on fit and finish, This could be really something special Paul. Or Lowrider. I expect that you have finished it buy now and will drip feed us the pictures. Tea made and waiting expectantly.... P. I like this idea. Thanks for letting me know it was a bit up market. I'm going to follow this advice. In fact, I'll print this page and nail it to the wall. It seemed to work with the Durango, that's one of the reasons I bought it and I've been picturing the interior as being "much nicer" than the others. Wheels and tires, yeah- if I choose them, I think it'll match the outcome better than if I let someone else do it, as in other builds I've done. I've never picked the wheels and tires, I just buy whatever steel stuff I can find.
This one isn't rushed. I think I'm going to shoot for an "Up Market" resto-rat-rod. Affordable pro touring with style. Yeah, sounds good!
