This is going to look soon good when it's done My HF Cromodoras poked about the same amount as your wheels (which are very very cool btw!) and I did manage to get the under essentially stock looking arches, with a little rolling and gentle massaging of the inner arches if you prefer the narrow bodied look to that of the HF over arches. Obviously if you're looking ofr an excuse to fit HF arches, then this is a perfectly good reason to do so haha. Thanks and yes I quite like that HF look with the bigger arches but I'm not sure. So often you see the " HF lookalikey " thing done to fulvias that I'm not sure I want to go too far down that route. I like the wheels and I realise I'm already off down that route. Ive removed the stainless rails down the side of the car under the doors. Mainly as they are a huge rust maker. Ive taken off the rail down the middle of the bonnet because of the look of it. Same with the front bumper...... So really the car is not original looking but the wheels are period options for the car. It will never be a HF Fanalone and so shouldnt try to be one but ....hey we'll see how it all pans out.

Good work. For a car supposedly owned by "a little old lady who never took it out in the rain", there sure seems to have been a lot of rot! What did she do, douse it down with salty water every Sunday? Hahahah infact on the test drive of the car when I went to look at it she wouldnt let me take it out in the rain. I had to do the deal and then when I had arranged that I went back later when it had stopped raining and then she let me take it out. Then I said fine and gave her the money... BUT that was a long long time ago (about 25 years !!!!!!)

Got the head lights working well sometimes they do. The switch is really dodgy. AND the Campagnolo's with new tyres. So now I really am totally skint. But I thought that to do the arches I need to have the fat tyres fitted so I can follow the curve properly and also if they rub a bit on the standard arches I can allow for that. Really happy with the look of those fat wheels. They don't actually stick out beyond the arches but I think they will have to flare out a bit more than they are as standard. HF arches it will be then. The door glass is in but will have to come out again so I can fit the handles. DOH....it only took a whole day to do that. Every screw and every single bolt was totally knackered and theres still the trims, and door cards, oh and the handles, and the winder mechanism isnt working properly.....well lots to do.

thanks crahel the door gaps are not that good but they take a better photo. once the door trims and the rest of the furniture are on it should be ok. Cheers! I'm afraid I cant take credit for the cills they were professionally done with a proper lift etc. That was a bit too scarey for me and had to be straight etc. But it was a good deal and worked out well. All the rest of the welding will be yours truly. I would be easier to get it done but I just haven't got the moolah and what would be the fun in that.!!!

Love this thread. Go for it. Heres a few things ive thought. Ive enjoyed making mead a few times and as a beekeeper the honey itself is important to the flavour of the mead. I'm lucky to have been able to try my own different honeys for mead making. The honey you get from the supermarket is usually already heated to make it easier to jar up and often is pasteurised too. So most of the flavour is ruined before you even get it. The honey you get from your guy on the farm is definitely the stuff you need for mead and try to get a dark strong one. The honey has loads of different flavours that come from the types of flowers the bees collect it from. So for example in the UK the honey from oilseed rape flowers is a sweet light honey that goes hard in the jars really quickly. Then the honey from clover is a darker stronger honey but not as sweet. Heather honey is really strong and can even be red in colour and doesn't go hard and crystallise. So ive found that the sugar content of honey varies massively and so your fermentation will too. The recipe ive used has only honey, water, yeast, and lemon juice some yeast nutrients, but each time it was totally different. Some batches was really strong and not sweet and some was 'winey' tasting etc. The yeast I used was a Maury yeast for port wine which survives a poor nutrient environment well and also will not be killed off quickly which gives a long slow fermentation. Ive left it to go full all the way through the fermentation until the alcohol stopped the yeast. The water is really important too.... any thing with chlorine, as our tap water is, is rubbish for brewing. Ive used bottled spring water. You are lucky as the honey you would get in Aussi is great and you probably get Manuka honey cheaply too. I would try some strong Eucalyptus tree honey. Let the mead go fermenting as long as possible. Some batches were still going weeks and weeks and they were the better ones. It really gets better the longer you can leave it to age. A year after its racked off the lees and still in the demijohn is minimum I would say then bottle it.... But its difficult not to drink it, and the hangover can be intense !!!! We drink it cold from the fridge in small doses.

Yes the doors were a fantastic find but thats all the aluminium bits for this car. The other fulvia ive got has got aluminium doors also and a bonnet too though its in such a state that I'm not sure whether its worth using the bonnet at all. If the doors on this car are anything to go by I think the fitting of anything else aluminium will turn me into a raving lunatic. It was a bit more than a bit of "fettling" I had to get out a crowbar and club hammer at one point.

front subframe box inside with new cill attached. rear of the new cill front box again with the rubber doughnut along the side subframe boxes before they go in so the otherside yet to be done which is in a right state. the old welding I did 10 years ago on the floorpan and inside is still holding up ok but theres not alot that isnt really rusty and falling to bits. Well ive started now. Thanks to Steve and Ollie at OJ motors for their going along with the plan and doing the scarey stuctural stuff. Next the wheel arches and panels to the cills to close in those holes to get to the structural stuff. Ive got some lovely lightweight aluminium doors with nice glass in them and winders that actually work. More to come later

Hi Slim, well I do remember Classico and I was a customer years ago. Think Ive even got a very old catalogue somewhere in my fulvia stuff. Thanks for that info about the Marelli. I recon thats probably the best solution for me. I have been a member of the lancia club on and off for a long time. Though my membership has lapsed at the moment. Nice Berlina by the way, a great car to have and much underrated I think especially the 5 speed.

Yes the marelli is the one on the car and according to the Lancisti probably the better. As far as i can gather theres the Pertronix /Accuspark way with the magnets inside the distributor instead of the points or the module outside. I'm not able to find any new points for the Ducellier and as they are rusty and not working I cant use that one at the moment. The decision for electronic is that the ducellier hasnt got an exact kit to fit only one that should fit ok with a few bits of adapting. don't get me wrong the car runs well enough with points at the moment I just recon that it would be smoother and more reliable with the electronic kit. Also its really hard to get the points set correctly with the right dwell angle and then with a few age related discrepancies with the weights and springs it seems to wander around.

heres what ive found ...there are two types of distributor for the fulvia ,Marelli and Ducellier both of them not very easy to find or get bits for. But the Marelli one is slightly easier. Both have weights to advance the timing not vacuum. I can get a pertonix ignition kit from the US for the marelli at about £80 or a uk ignition kit for the Ducellier at about £35. The pertronix for the Marelli is a definite fit and sounds the best. Also the marelli is what is fitted to the car now. The ducellier ignition kit is a pattern part and will probably have to be slightly modified to fit and work correctly. so will probably go for the pertronix ignitor 2 kit for the Marelli. Will probably get the coil and leads to go with it as the existing stuff is at least 25 years old as ive not replaced that lot in the time ive had the car.

started to have a sort out of the carbs and found that Ive actually got a few more sets than i realised. two lots of 35mm and a 32mm. So should be able to get one decent set of 35mm out of that lot.
