Guys, I too am looking out for somewhere in Notts suitable to store and occasionally work on the car. Between a few of us, we may be able to share somewhere of a decent size?

Racing circles! I have no defence or reason for putting these on, but they look very cool.

I did have mesh headlight guards on but I removed them. Left the clips in case I decided to put them back on.
Cheers for the kind words about the seats.

Cheers mate, have just found the page on FB. I'm away with work for six weeks from Monday so I'll have to convince the missus to let me come down! I appreciate the heads up though.

Afternoon all. Time for a bit of an update. Few bits and pieces done that aren't particularly interesting recently as well as a couple of cool jobs. Have had a brand new winscreen and chrome windscreen surround fitted. Surround was from Moss and not a great fit to be honest. I had a new, upgraded heater matrix and fan installed. My heating is now working and much better than before; great mod. Also fixed a couple of little gremlins: handbrake light staying on even when HB is released, washer jets not working and new starter motor. GAZ shocks have also been fitted: Boring stuff out the way, here are some pics: Taillights before: After: Wing mirrors before: After: Headlight rings before: After: Some engine bay stuff (HT leads, new spark NGK spark plugs, oil cap, rocket cover repainted): Also just got around to fitting these re-trimmed MX-5 seats this morning: I think they look awesome, well made up with them. Couple more random pics:

I'll be honest, I wasn't entirely sold on the minilites as they're such a 'done thing' on MG's (mine used to have them.. ahem) but in black against yellow paint is very cool I reckon those tyres sit quite nicely in the arch to me I um'd and ah'd about the minilites as well for the same reasons. Looked at what seemed like every other wheel option but these were the happy medium between cost and looks. Would have loved a set of the Dunlop reps as per the Frontline cars, but they are mental money.

adam73bgt I'm holding this car as the benchmark for your resto... It looks great! One of the very few cars I've seen that look good in yellow Cheers mate, appreciate that. I wasn't 100% sold on the colour to begin with, it's a bit loud for me usually, but it's grown on me.

Where did you get the replica valance from ?? I've got the old ST one on mine at the mo, but I'd like to change if for the Frontline one, preferably with the brake ducts, so long as it's not too expensive. Phil. Phil, I picked it up on eBay for £35. It's fibreglass and wasn't the greatest of fits, but I managed to make it work with some cutting. Off the top of my head, the actual FL one is about £140, so a decent saving made.

Gratuitous update pictures. Spent the afternoon modifying, sanding and priming the new valence (I said it was a Frontline one, but it's actually a cheap knock-off). Will be finishing it in a metallic silver tomorrow morning. Also fitted a new arm rest today. Exciting times!

Awesome! What's a Stage 2 MGOC engine? I really like these MG's often toyed with the idea of getting one. Looks like you have a really nice example there! Ralph Ralph, thanks for the kind words. the MG Owners Club offer a number of different engine upgrades. www.mgocspares.co.uk/acatalog/MGOC_SPARES_MGB_762.html

These should be on in the next couple of days. Just waiting for the tyres to be delivered. Little bit of lip of the wheels as well, which I'm happy with.

All, does anyone have garage space available in the Nottingham area? As close to the city as possible would be perfect. Needs to have electricity as I intend to do some work on the car in it. Looking to rent on a monthly basis.
PM me or reply if you have or know of somewhere!
Thanks.

Bjorn, I've had a look at the CCC set ups and although they're probably worth every penny, they sit slightly out of the budget at the moment! More pressing matters to address.
Any pics of yours Bjorn?

Love it. I was considering a set of Works Equip wheels after seeing yours on here but I'm going to try and keep it relatively period looking. You're right though, CB is just that little bit too high still.

GoJo, I have read that they're fine for normal RB to CB lowering (which has already been done) but will need custom hangers if I plan on going lower. Is that what you mean?

Thanks for the kind words gents. I can't take credit for the work so far, that goes to the PO. Will post up some pics of the restoration later.
Nathan, saw your post on MGEXP. Love the JDM influences on your GT. I have a feeling though that your post didn't impress the purist types over there! Where abouts are you in Notts? I'm moving up there in Nov.
