I used to have the hatchback, liked it It was parked on the street in London and had all 4 wheels stolen, I replaced them then it had the front bumper (!) stolen It used to fail to start if the tank was less than a 1/4 full - sold it before I could diagnose that one

If this sale falls through for any reason, I can be there with the asking price with 60 minutes notice. Very disappointed I didn't this yesterday, this is exactly what I am looking for.

I had one of these in exactly that colour, Pirate Black. Bought it from someone I knew in Jersey, it had done 8,000 miles from new in 3 years just round the island. I loved it, eventually traded for a Golf MkIV R32 - which was also a great car but I always missed the Type-R. Here it is somwhere in Scotland.

I've been inspired to create this thread mainly by Geordie's thread on his recently acquired A6 which has the same engine & autobox as mine. This is not going to be nearly as exciting as most of the content on here; I don't have the skills or the time to do anything major, I just want to document keeping the car in good order and maybe in 2018 a few minor upgrades & fettles. Anyway I bought this in 2015 from an advert on VZi, when it was on about 105k miles. Full disclosure - I paid £1700. It Immediately developed a large blow in the exhaust which I got fixed at a custom exhaust place (stock exhausts were about £1k [eeekkk]). Since then the only problem has been a broken ABS reluctor ring on a rear wheel. I've changed oil & filters myself but MOT is due in January so will probably pay for any work that needs doing (I suspect brakes in particular). It was briefly up for sale in the summer but luckily my circumstances changed very quickly and I withdrew it from sale. For 2018 I would like to get the wheels refurbed (maybe in black or dark grey), fix the tiny rust spot on the tailgate, and I have a hankering to get driving lights on the front... not sure why really. It also needs a damn good clean, clay bar etc. Now on 125,000 miles. Anyway enough chat, here are some pics: In the summer sun: Interior is in fantastic condition, a credit to the previous owners: Rust spot needs sorting Engine bay With roofbox and filthy after 200 miles down to Devon at Xmas Obligatory Quattro snow shot (still filthy):

I had a 620 Ti, great car. I was in the passenger seat with a mate driving when a person tyre completely disintegrated at about 95 in the fast lane of the M6 - very nice piece of driving to get us to the hard shoulder in one piece. Then another mate borrowed it and when I got it back the head gasket went a week later.

This has inspired me to start a thread on my '99 A4 Avant with the same engine. Yesterday I found a nail in the tyre on my wife's daily (Isuzu double cab) - so whacked the roof box on the Audi and 200 faultless miles with 2 kids, 2 dogs and a million presents down to the in-laws in Exeter. I was secretly pleased because it's so much nicer to be in than the Isuzu 😀

I've got a '99 A4 Avant Quattro with this engine & gearbox, and a very similar dashboard with all the dials. Mine has a digital clock but I prefer your analogue version. The design of Audis from this era is almost perfect in my opinion, especially the interior, eve more so at night when it all lights up in red like a submarine.

Lovely black 900 turbo that a guy in the next village to me uses as a daily, always parks near me in the station car park and I'm always jealous

Also a new windscreen earlier this year. There are a few areas on the bumpers where the laquer(?) or top layer has sort of flaked off, the exact same colour is underneath so it doesn't look too bad. And a few areas of touch up paint from the previous owner.

I will be very sad to see this go, but a top to bottom rethink of the family's cars means this is sadly surplus to requirements. And to be honest the interior is so nice I cringed every time my kids got in the back with muddy football kit etc. I will miss it, especially at night with the all-red dash like a submarine or something Key points: - 119,300 miles (will rise slightly as in use) - MOT til 17 Feb 2018 - Full Service History (10 Audi main dealer stamps up to 2011, one VAG specialist in 2015, oil & filters changed by me in March 2016), and file of receipts. - Everything works (apart from one tail light that has just blown, will be changed prior to sale) - Bodywork in great condition for a 17yo car. Other than the usual stone chips etc, of note are a small dent on the bonnet, an even smaller ding on the tailgate, a tiny rust patch under the rear window and some bubbles starting in the front wheel arches. - Interior is very clean and a lovely place to be with the full leather and walnut trim. - V6 engine will pull all day, the auto tiptronic box lends it a cruisy feel but it will pull hard on kickdown. - Bose stereo with 6CD changer in the boot sounds great. - Front tyres are Hankook, new in Feb 2017. Rears are Pirelli with loads of tread left. - All manuals, big file of receipts - Alloy spare wheel, original tools etc. In over 2 years of ownership all that has been required has been a rear ABS sensor and an exhaust centre section. Located just to the west of High Wycombe, viewing welcome. Full flickr album of pics here: www.flickr.com/photos/baz/albums/72157679377289194

This was owned by my great Aunt and sat on her drive for several years without moving, when she died last year I rescued it with the view to getting it running again but I just can't find the time with 2 kids and a house refurbishment project. Only done 66,000 miles, just run in. I changed the battery and the fuel, the engine turns over fine but I couldn't get it to start in a few hours of fettling. Possibly fuel pump? but who knows. Battery has drained again over the winter though. Some rust on the boot lip but other than that very solid. Rolls fine, brakes aren't seized so will go onto a trailer easily enough. Reasonably clean and tidy inside. SORNed. V5 present and in my name. I am based near High Wycombe, come and have a look.
