I got some Securon ones for the camper, luckily VW saw fit to install the mount points for 3point belts in 1971 so it was an easy bolt in job. The rear one is adjustable so it can work at any angle.
Personally if it was me I'd be buying brand new rather than adapting old belts. Mine cost me about £30 each, its nothing compared to a childs safety ;D

Thought I'd stick a thread up from last weekends antics. For the last 5yrs a group of us have been camping together before the Stonor Park VW show, this year with SWMBO now 5mths pregnant and Stonor very hot and steep to clamber around we decided to do away with the show and stick with just camping. Set of friday morning and grabbed a spot early, we get use of one big section of the site so we can do our own thing. I set Kim up with the paddling pool and the biggest cocktail umbrella in the world While I had an ice cream, before pitching the awning. During the day the first 8 pitches worth of mates arrived and pitched in a variety of Splits, Bays and a T25 Hitting the R'n'R bed after midnight we awoke to more glorious sunshine and a big old breakfast. After a bit of shopping in town we retired to the chairs with a cold one And then the kids started a mega water fight, the second of the weekend! Muggins here got roped in to play too We then BBQ more meat than we could eat! and nattered round the vans till late. Sunday morning a few people went to the VW show, we took it nice and lazy with a bacon bap and a slow pack up

Just found these photos. First one is Albert, the Ultima based mule running a Chevy V8 to test the Mclaren gearbox. And this is Edward, another Ultima based mule running the BMW V12 for more testing. ;D

Love the F1, I saw the magazine and had a quick flick through it, will be picking it up next time I'm in Smiths. The car is amazing, it was my poster car along with the F40 and 959. I went to the Park Lane showroom in the mid 1990s and got to sit in the red car there, I've still got my brochure tucked away. Tucked away in a carshow room along with a few old Formula 1 cars is this eyewatering F1 LM If you like a good read then try and pick up a copy of "Driving Ambition", the story of the F1 from prototypes to production and racing. I'll end on an F1 tale, witnessed by me on the way home from work one evening. I was sat on the Lightwater Bypass near the M3, the traffic there always queues back a mile or two to get on the roundabout. I was waiting when in the distance a Max Powered Nova came belting up the other way with a MK3 Golf GTi nailed to its bootlid flashing to come past, suddenly both cars veered into the slow lane as "something" very low and fast came up behind them flashing to pass as well, the closer it got the more noise it made until it was level with me, probably doing over 100mph was a matt grey Mclaren F1 GT Longtail, it shot past and into the rear view mirror and vanished in seconds.

Its a terrible thing for an older driver to admit they can't drive any more, giving up the independence and mobility is very difficukt. My dad had a few strokes last year and was told not to drive, he too kept his license and waited until his doctor said he could drive again. He is taking it slowly with only a few very short trips so far.
Best advice I can give is maybe speak to his doctor and see if he can talk to your dad, it may feel like you're going behind his back but its for his and other drivers safety. If the doctor can produce a letter to the DVLA to get the licence revoked he would be forced to return it.

£15 for 3 days and 2 nights is a bargain, and a limit on people is a good call. Count me in ;D

Personally I prefer a random selection from a show, few words about the event and some comments about the odd car, then a link to the rest of the photos. Great long threads of nothing but photos have me clicking elsewhere unless I spot something that takes my fancy within a few seconds ;D

I moved it in here, theres quite clearly a "Stolen" section, its only four lines below the general forum tab!
If it goes in the general section it'll just get lost within an hour or two. I you look a the first pinned topic in stolen the link goes to a new website for helping find stolen classics and this Triumph is the car on the front page.
