checkered roof

I'm after a new car and whatever I get I get I want a checkered roof, I noticed most have a 4" square, can I get smaller ? also is can I get black and White checkered to do the roof, will it come in little squares or one big sheet,or how much would it cost for sumone else to do it

I did mine with paint, can do any size you want then

Go to a sign shop and buy a few metres of black vinyl (a lot of DIY stores sell Fablon which is also ideal, but probably won't last as long)

Craft knife & ruler....cut cut cut, now you have lots of black squares whatever size you deem right for your car.

Paint the roof white, let it dry, add black squares.....done.

Or buy a few metres of white and do the same as with the black but it'll be a bit trickier to get tham all perfectly lined up. Maybe cover the roof with the white vinyl (a few seperate strips to cover the whole roof, a little bit of overlap won't notice) and then add the black.

Draw/mask/mark a centreline through the middle (both ways) and work out carefully from there. DON'T start at an edge

A few pounds costs, a few hours work and you're done.

I'd look in to borrowing or buying a guillotine if I had to cuts that many squares out

I had Fablon on the roof of my old Corsa and it was fine after nearly three years

I did the roof on my Kangoo with Fablon too, the current checks have been on for well over a year and they are the same as the day I put them on

I quite fancy doing that to my Dedra, but it's got a (dark) glass sunroof. What's the best way to deal with that without it looking rubbish?
