One of my favourite events of the year and fingers crossed for this weather to continue. Anyone up for meeting on the way from the SE or London? I was thinking about somewhere around where the M25 meets the A3. Fairly early in the morn' If anyone is interested, we could then firm up a place and time.

Hmm... when we leave is kind of up to how hungover I may be/whether my wife wants to come. Might just have to keep an eye out for you en route. If you get flashed by a Leon Cupra with a SuckSqueezeBangBlow sticker, that's me!

I'll be going, but heading down pretty early to avoid the infamous traffic queues. See you there! ;D

I've heard lots of conflicting info about when to turn up. Posters say it opens at 10, but lots of people talking about getting there mega-early. Any advice there?

IIRC, it's entry for the viewing public that opens at 10. I've been through the exhibitors' (for want of a better description) gates well before 9, and still been about the 4th or 5th row from the front.

OK. So if I, as part of that viewing public, aim to get there for 10, am I actually likely to be spending the morning in a traffic jam...?

Sorry - no idea tbh - for all I know, the public carpark may well be open that early too. Whenever I've been there, it's been early to avoid the traffic, so don't know by what time it gets really bad.

OK. So if I, as part of that viewing public, aim to get there for 10, am I actually likely to be spending the morning in a traffic jam...? The general public and the show cars sit in the same traffic jam up until very close to the entrance. I've been the last 2 years - 1st year got there pretty early, before 9am I reckon, quite a queue. Last year, got there later, probably around 10am and there was less traffic. Not sure what to conclude from that other than leave when is good for you as the queues aren't easy to predict! Hope to see some of you there!

Don't worry about the queues just enjoy them as part of the day. I have been 2 years in a row and not had trouble

Really looking forward to this too but if the wather is anything like today, i think i may be one of those overheating cars. leaving winchester at 7:30 as don't want to be stuck in loads of traffic with a dodgy engine. Anyone heading up the M3?

I'm coming up from SE London in the Cortina with my 2 kids. Mums out at work so our timing will depend on how organized Dad is in the morn Would be up for a convoy if there's a time/place in mind we'll do our bestest to aim for it. Could be handy as it goes as this will be my first wheels day and I'm not too sure where I'm going. Guess it ain't too hard to find though, just follow the cool cars ;D
